Ben-DutkaIf there's one Collector's Edition that entices many PlayStation 3 owners more than any other, it's right here.
It's the official unboxing of the Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception Collector's Edition, which will release in North America on November 1 for $99.99. As you might expect, this bad boy is packed with all sorts of awesome goodies.
It comes in a "very cool looking reproduction of a traveling chest" that boasts exclusive exterior artwork. Inside? Full-size, wearable replicas of Nathan Drake's belt buckle and his necklace with Sir Francis Drake's ring, a Steelbook case for the game (the first ever for SCEA), and a high-quality statue of Nathan Drake, courtesy of Sideshow Collectibles, which is only available in this edition. It's always nice to get extra content on a game disc or something, but this is the type of material goodness that we really appreciate.
Oh, and did we forget to mention that quite possibly the best game of 2011 will also be included? Heck, that alone might be worth a hundred bucks. And no, that's not really a joke…

North is hilarious, the man is a comic genius. I was skeptical about getting this at first, but seeing that actual "wardrobe" has made it a very tempting purchase.
Is it just me or does the replica's face look kind of deformed? It kind looks like Drake got punched in the face or something.

When I hear of a special edition I want either two things:
1. An art book – Not art on a disc.
2. A making of DVD.
Anything else is just an addded bonus. What I do hate is all these special editions with toys, which bump up the price to double. I remember the European Special Edition of MGS4, which had the soundtrack, Blu-ray making of (Which was poor in comparison to the great mark of MGS2 documentary.) and a Toy!
The thing is i never know what to do with it, it just turns up randomly in my stuff at inappropiate times. I imagine its still probaly somewhere in my room… waiting to attack.

True, but I usually have a valid reason for my pessimism. Spending £80 for a special edition mainly for a documentary which turns out to be lousy is a fine reason to moan.
You know, you can get a few bucks for those statues on ebay.

I downloaded the newest trailer off the PSN a few days ago, and I am convinced that U3 will be the best game of 2011.
I wish I had the funds to purchase the collectors edition, but I don't. I looks worth it to me though!
I'm more into gaming than collecting replicas myself. Cute for the fanboys I guess.

Nolan North is freakin' hilarious. His comedic timing in that video was amazing.
As for this C.E., I'm only interested in the Steelbook. I collect Steelbooks and that's a nice looking one. I just wish he would've showed the interior of it. Everything else is just a dust collector to me. When I buy Collector Editions, I like special packaging, making-of disc, soundtrack and in-game content. I have no use for statues and gimmicky props. Nice for the fans, though.
WOw…this includeds some useful items unlike most special editions…*looking at you Skyrim…$150 for nothing*. I want Uncharted 3 so bad after watching the newest gameplay vid on gametrailers.
Great video, I won't lie, his presence in Dark Void went a long way to helping me get past the issues. I'll be okay with the regular version this time but it looks like a neat set.
But more importantly, watching this has given me a stroke of genius. With his comedic delivery, timing, and acting range, he would be perfect to play Ash in the Evil Dead remake should they decide Bruce Campbell is too old. I think he could do Ash just as well as Drake.
Already pre-ordered and halfway paid for. Can't wait for the awesomeness.
This game is looking even more awesome every day, I've already preordered the collector's edition.

I believe that poster is the cover to the first issue of the Uncharted comic book series from DC.

This year's game shopping list just got a little more expensive *sigh*. I don't get special editions much, don't care that much for the toys and whatnot. Strangely, for me, its about "rewarding" a worthy game/ franchise. I've got Dark Souls special edition coming and now UC3.

I'd buy this just for the steelcase, I have an Uncharted 2 steelcase and it's the best special edition I have, dunno why America didn't get that, this being the first SCEA steelcase.
Don't care much for the figurine though, i guess the ring and belt buckle are cool, but i'd pay that price for just the steelbook and knowing that game is inside it the combination will be well worth the price 😀
I'm buying the C.E. for the Steelbook and then selling everything else on eBay. I did that for God of War III. Just wanted the voucher. Bought the C.E. for $90, kept the game/voucher and sold everything else for $65. Seemed like a good deal in the end. 🙂
