Ben-DutkaSaints Row 2 was a success but given all the hype surrounding Saints Row: The Third , the new entry should be even bigger.
And that's what's gonna happen if the pre-order numbers are any indication. According to Eurogamer , THQ CEO Brian Farrell told investors that pre-orders for The Third are twice the number Saints Row 2 enjoyed "at a comparable point in the game's life cycle."
"We think with another couple of weeks we'll surpass the pre-orders for Saint's Row 2 and we're still 15 weeks from launch."
Furthermore, the publisher hopes to bring in "20% additional revenue" from digital add-ons, which will continue for a full year after the game hits store shelves. This November, you can start your chaotic, hectic adventure and remember, the more content the better. Do you plan on picking up Saints Row: The Third as an early Christmas present for yourself?

This will be one of the handful of games I actually buy before renting, it's usually the exact opposite cause I don't do that with a lot of games.

SR2 was really cool. I'm eyeballing the third one for sure but it's not a pre-order this time.
Cited for this, but I still have about 8 million things to do in SR2 so there's no rush. You got to respect the wacky fan service this series has, it's like a hold out from last generation that refuses to embrace the stripping out of elements that this generation has seen in its games.

Oh man I'd love it if the Third ends up being a huge crowd pleaser. They so deserve that.
i hated SR2 because i thought it was trying to be a GTA game.
a friend kept twisting my arm to buy it. i did eventualy but used and loved it
it filled the fun void that was missing in GTA IV.
looking forward and excited about SR the third.
its not trying to be GTA, its being what GTA IV should of been!
on steroids, at a rock concert, taking everything just that little too far…….. just like GTA use to!
anyone remember the hooker level in 3 that got the game banned?
or the bank robery level in vice city?

IMO GTA has been dulled down since Vice City. Good but less fun. And why all the censorship? If you go to a strip club where all girls have full bikinis it will close down very soon for sure. Maybe on their next game will let you buy drinks that are all alcohol free.
It's been dulled down, but I think it all happened with GTAIV.
I agrre with Beamboom, about when it got dulled down it happened in GTAIV, cause San Andreas was the most over-the-top compared to the other GTA games. I kinda missed the part were you can make you're character look like he's on steroids by going to the gym to lift weights or exercise. To me San Andreas is the best GTA and I would love to see another.

the perfect GTA would be everything from san andreas but in vice citys world but with the scale of san andreas.
the map in san andreas was MASSIVE!
i really enjoyed the gang turf wars, and how you could level up each weapon you had.
They should combine both have the game take place in two different cities instead of just one let us play as both Tommy and CJ and give the game local and online Co-op… Wait I'm getting way to excited for this cause I know it won't happen, but one can dream about it can he??
