EA Focusing On Upgrading FIFA 12 Be A Manager Mode

When I used to play sports games, I always looked at any Manager option with confusion and disdain. Why the hell would I want to sit there and do nothing when I could play ?

Well, things have changed over the years; specifically, the depth and involvement concerning simulation sports elements in video games. And besides, I was never hardcore enough to care. Those who do care might like to hear that this year's new FIFA installment will feature an upgraded "Be A Manager" mode, as FIFA 12 producer David Rutter informed IncGamers :

"Our big focus this year has actually been on 'Be A Manager.' Overwhelmingly, the popularity of career mode rests on the manager side of things."

Rutter didn't have much to say about the Be A Pro mode, other than that they have "a lot of cool stuff" in the works for the online play. But this bit about being a manager at the pro soccer level should be enticing for ardent followers of the sport. And hey, if the US women's World Cup team keeps doing insane things like what it did yesterday, we'll all be soccer fans very soon. Did you see that?

I admittedly was never a Soccer fan until about 5 years ago when I was somewhat forced to be a Coach of my sons youth team. 5 years of coaching later, my first year of U14 is due to start.

Soccer is sport that requires as much team work as any sport I have ever seen or been a part of, and despite that, one player can make a difference. In my opinion the one player who can impact a team more than any other is Goal Keeper. Hope Solo did just that for Team USA in the penalty kick stage, and against the Brazilians no less. Go USA!!

Yeeeah Ben, you bet I saw that :-D!! Good for you maxpontiac! It's always refreshing to see my favorite soccer get some love around here :-)!! Good luck wit U14! It was an awsome performance by the USA; performances like these can go a long way to attract more fans to the sport in this country.

As an avid football fan, I can tell you that Fifa 11 is the best footballing game ever made… until you play more than one season. At this point, you suddenly realise how buggy the game is – awful refereeing, tragic passing and player movement and other annoying glitches. Instead of introducing new features (admittedly I'm interested in the Be A Manager mode because it means I can play the game and become a manager without having to play the matches), EA should make the game much more playable. I know it's hard, but surely they can do something better than Fifa 11. I know the Fifa fanboys will slate me, all my friends are, but I've finally managed to see the glitches and realised how bad it is.

I have noticed the glitches as well but it's really not enough to sway me from making one of my favorite games. It's still so much fun and you have to learn to overcome it. I will say this though. The hardest level is not even playable. At all. The opposing AI are super human and with the glitches you mention you're more than likely to lose by more than 2 or 3 points 90% of the time. I love me some fifa though. Cannot wait till 12 drops.
