Tiger Woods 12 Move Support Better Than Last Year’s

As time goes on, technology gets better and developers learn more about existing technology.

EA has promised that playing this year's Tiger Woods iteration with PlayStation Move will be better than last year's motion experience. That's because this time around, the team has had a "full cycle" to allow for full compatibility; you may recall that Move functionality for Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11 was only added via patch. Said lead designer Mike DeVault:

"We have full Sony Move support this year. Last year we had a patch that integrated the support into the game. This year we've had a full cycle to dedicate to the Move. We've been able to smooth out a lot of the kinks we had from last year and then also add some functionality."

Many critics and gamers saw problems with the aforementioned patch; the game was one of the first to support Move, and it sort of showed. But now that EA has had more time to familiarize themselves with the new motion-sensing hardware, the new Tiger Woods should play much better. For instance, they've added a first-person camera, which was included in the Wii version last year but missed the Move/PS3 version.

This could be a very interesting year for Sony's motion mechanic. We'll get to see how it works with hardcore shooters, and better games designed around Move will be on store shelves.

If it works well I will pick it up. I want to use my move controllers.

Glad to see they are improving on the move support from last year's game. If it is even marginally better, it is a must buy for me.

The only problem I guess is, uh, you need Move.

golf is the one game i dont want to use move with.
dunno why, but golf has always bored the sh*t out of me!
had to play it for sports every thursday for 2 freaking years, and to be honest made me want to just "go to sleep" every thursday.
how people can call this a hobby is beyond me!

Blankman strikes again. Why do I get the feeling that everything you suck at, you have to disparage? Why don't you do us all a favor and "go to sleep" for a couple of years you negative puke.

Tiger Woods PGA Tour 03 is what first got me hooked on golf and made me want to learn the real game. The game of golf takes skill, strategy, patience and perseverance…and walking the course actually burns some calories. I only wish I had taken the opportunity to learn it for "free" in high school.

I'm really hoping EA can step it up this year and bring a challenging experience with move functionality that is close to the real thing. I'm happy that they are at least bringing Feherty back into the fold. He always keeps it interesting.

@ Imagi: He's probably referring to putt putt and there were probably (no offense to the actual disabled) short buses involved. Stooping to his level I know.

@ _________: They, or I would ass-u-me, you, as playing the naysayer, would most likely say……………they cannot do anything else.

If my assumption is correct, I would have to strenuously object to your assertion. I regularly play golf with a dozen or so, highly professional, intelligent and very well rounded individuals. I also personally excel at skiing, swimming, hiking, biking, soccer, football, volleyball, basketball, sailing, windsurfing, tennis, archery, marksmanship, paintball, ping pong, racquetball, billiards, darts, ultimate, disc golf, creative writing, poetry, technical writing, reading, drawing, painting, sculpture, etc…just to name a few. I enjoy every genre of music and movies. I’m basically a gamer of life.

Now if my assumption of your reference was to video gaming, I currently have a 10 star PSN trophy ranking and enjoy pretty much every genre: racing, sports, action, puzzle, FPS/TPS, RPG, adventure, fighting, sandbox, survival horror, strategy, old school…you get the picture.

Typically, I suffer fools rather well. I have to admit that sometimes, given my Gemini temperament (ElJefeDiablo as my evil twin and gamertag), some of them do manage to get under my skin…especially when they call out one of my passions as boring or pointless. I understand that some people are very limited in their scope of life’s pleasures and may relish in living this narrow realm as half empty, but potentially as one of those persons, it may be wise for you to keep your *ahem* “arseholes” to yourself.

Maybe you like to bait the hook with some extra sharp cheddar to see who will bite *Whopper on the line*. Maybe you like to put on a blind fold and pretend the beehive is a piñata. All I’m saying is, you may get along better with the other kids in the sandbox if you stopped feeding them cat turd pies and throwing sand in their eyes! X P

The Move actually worked great with the Tom Daly's golf demo I tried on the PSN… If it's anything like that, I'm sure it will be great…
