God of War always needed to be in high-definition, don't you think?
The God of War Collection , featuring HD remakes of both God of War and God of War II have been available for quite some time, but soon, there will be another way to grab it. Sony has revealed that the Collection will be going digital on the PlayStation Store on November 2. Running at 60 frames per second in glorious 720p HD complete with remastered anti-aliased graphics, the first two GoW gems have never looked better. They also came with full Trophy support. But that isn't all: God of War: Ghost of Sparta , the hot new PSP action experience, will also be available for download on the PSN on the same day. If you're a fan of the franchise and you aren't ready to pounce on this, you're out of your mind. Plain and simple. Besides, now that GoWIII has already wowed the hell out of us, we've got a good long wait until the next adventure comes our way, so why not get what we can?
By now, the PSN has really become a necessity for PS3 owners. There's just so much to grab.
Well here we go, this is the start of PS2 games being offered on the PSN.
I just finished GOW3 tonight and while the journey was rather amazing (especially the scale) I felt the ending was a huge letdown.
did you watch till the end of the credits?
::SPOILERS:: ::SPOILERS::
Ya, of course. It was just a shot of the horizon, correct? Was I supposed to take something else from it?
Not really the start of PS2 games LV, since the collection is technically a PS3 game.
Technically? What are you a scientist? Come on, it's obvious that this is the beginning of the PS2 movement to the PSN.
…fag
lol. Ladies and gentlemen… I give you LV, the Bisexual Republican.
Ahem, uh, yes back on topic (since we never stray off it here) perhaps this will be the gateway game for actual PS2 games.

I got owned by a true gentleman.
Well, they've been releasing PS3 retail games in the PS Store. Tomb Raider: Underworld came out this week in the store. More to come.
:::SPOILER:::

Just buy a bluray copy. it will cost the same and will hold more value.
And you won't fill your hard drive as fast.
yes ur right, rathar have a hard copy of these great games than fill up my hard drive considering that I don't have that much space left.
Love,
Get another harddrive….they're cheap as hell.
Also, the download doesn't come with the behind-the-scenes features.

I recently picked up the collection and have started playing it. Absolutely worth the money whether you've played them in the past or not.
i prefer the blu ray version.
Why?
cuz it's a physical copy and i don't have to download anything
Fair enough, just wanted you to explain yourself.
Plus it's cheaper than the download price is rumored to be.
I already on the disc version and I'm not too hot about buying PS3 games that chew up tons of HDD space. I know this collection is two PS2 games, but still, I'd imagine it's over, or near, 10GBs
Could be, especially since they are remastered. The Medal of Honor Front Lines clocked in at over 4gbs.
Oh come on Tem, you can get a 500gig for under $60. With wireless media streaming there is no reason your harddrive should be full.
LV, I have a 120gb HDD that came with my system and I don't want to spend another $60 just to be able to download games I may already own, but with possibly less content.
BTW, I do like the idea of digitally distributed game content but it just seems way out in the distance right now (retail-sized games). Sony has chosen to go the mass storage route with BD's and I doubt they'll do day and date disc-based and PSN content anytime soon for PS3 users. Really, would you want Uncharted 3 eating up about 40-50GBs of space?
I will, however, grab Tekken 6 if it goes PSN anytime soon. The nature of that kind of game would benefit instant access.
I understand your situation. I'm always interested in larger capacity harddrives but if you're fine with your HD size then more power to you.
I sure as hec wouldn't want to download a 50gig Uncharted3 file but I think anything below 10gigs is fine with the current download speeds I get. You're right though, Sony chose Blu-ray and it's working out great and I fully support the medium. Hell I bought SaintsRow2 a few minutes ago off Amazon.

I read somewhere else that the pricing will be more than the disk version. Which isn't surprising.
maybe sony is pricing the bluerays a little cheaper so that people will want the physical media. you know they went to all the trouble to make blueray and bd drives… dont want it to go obsolete right away. make the customer want the physical media still. the retailers are happy you support them and the customers is happy they have a choice. everybody wins.
I played through the collection a bit ago, totally sweet. (Damn you, you sliding plate-swimming really fast killing machine trap in GOWI!!!)
Still gotta play my Chains of Olympus, I played the Ghost of Sparta demo but I think I'll wait for a lower priced UMD. There's IS a UMD of that game right?
Yeah, of course.
Don't forget the gold trophy for getting up the first blade spire without getting hit.
They just HAD to add that.
I must have been lucky, since it knocked me off the thing every time I got hit, the only way to get up WAS to not get hit. So I got that trophy.
what about chains of olympus??
its the one god of war game i WANT to try that i haven't tried yet!
what about it? its $19.99 and a 1.29gb download. its been on the store for a year. umd for longer. if you havent tried it, its not sonys fault.

hahaha
i misunderstood.
i thought it meant ghost of sparta would be a PSN title… playable on PS3
my bad
dont see the point in downloading these, they would be quite large and if you change ps3s or something happens to your HDD you have to re download it.
really glad sony decided to remaster the games though, never got a chance to play the first so it was a perfect opportunity too.
wish they would do this with more of there games, i would walk around the world wash, vacuum, and polish every car in the world to get a R&C collection!
thats how much i want it!
The first thing that came to mind when I read that God of War Collection was coming to the PSN was…
"Playstation 2 on the PS3".
You know what will get my money?
If the 'GoW:Ghost of Sparta' game for the PSP is *playable* on my PS3 through this download!
Interesting to find that they're bringing GOW Collection to the PSN….I already have my own physical copy (for a good couple of months now)and I've played through them multiple times.
So happy that Sony decided to bring out the GOW collection because my two copies of GOW for my PS2 had just up and disappeared, oddly enough… -_-"
Anyway, can't wait till Ghost of Sparta come out….that's definitely a D1P!
I Still haven't got this game yet and the trophies are easy! too I Wont buy on the psn though i'd rather have the box for my collection i bought the gow 3 ultimate edition so it would fit nice inside pandoras box!
