When Batman: Arkham City was announced, fans of Arkham Asylum were excited, but nevertheless a touch disappointed at hearing at the estimated release date of fall 2011.
In other words, we have to wait a year before we get Rocksteady's next gem. However, according to a recent OPM Podcast – as summarized by System Link – the game might actually be done already. It seems the developers can play it right through from start to finish, and we wonder if they really need 2/3 of next year just to polish, tweak, and fine-tune… Maybe they do; who knows? We're not game makers. Anyway, they also talked about a fun new enhancement called the "Boost Grapple," which launches you quickly into the air and allows you to zip about faster. We're also liking the sound of side missions and alternate objectives that will present themselves in the city, and then there's the possibility of co-op. It seems the OPM guys saw Catwoman sneaking off into the night "using the exact same moves as Batman." This prompted the co-op question, to which Rocksteady replied, "we're not talking about that right now."
But anyway, the most interesting part is obviously that bit about being able to play all the way through. Of course, the game isn't "done" but maybe it'll arrive earlier than expected…? The earlier the better for this one.

I want It and I still Haven't played the 1st one yet.
Waiting for the sequel. Definitely play the 1st one. Also awesome pic of Guyver. David Hayter was cool in that.
what are you waiting on. it's the best comic hero game made.
Snake was the Guyver??
@main_event
Yea he was the guyver in the sequel. Check it out. Loved the b-movie vibe. Some of the fights are choreographed well.
I'm going to checkout Guyver (or the sequel) now.
same here.
The Guyver anime was cool too.
Take your time Rocksteady don't F this searies up if u release it early you will be sorry if u do.
Isn't there a term for this, as in "alpha" mode? Where the games framework is essentially complete but the polishing needs to be done? God of War 3 was still in alpha when it was first shown at E3.
I love Batman:AA and I'm very much looking forward to play Batman:AC.
Mark Hamil is the voice of the Joker right? Hamil will always be my favorite, but i've grown quite fond of Dimagio's Joker, followed by Tim Curry's.
Yes Mark Hamill does the voice of Joker. And the best one ever, IMO. Enjoy this one though. Mark has already stated that this is the last time he is going to do the voice of the Joker. Let's hope he goes out with a bang.
I call dibs on Catwoman! No way would I miss the chance to play with her. I mean use her. I mean control her. I mean… doh!
No way you can make that not sound perverted lol
You wanna be her ball of string dontcha?
Sorry to fly slightly off topic (Batman isn't really my thing) but hows the Spiderman SD review coming Ben?
Rocksteady did such a wonderful job on the first one. I'm going to try and platinum it sometime before the next on comes out.
I've scene some screen shots of the second one. Can't wait for the next one.
OMFG, being able to play from start to finish does not mean the game is finished!
thats called beta people!
god, i thought OPM would of known that!
Still gotta jump on the first one. I've put it off long enough. I really don't care when the sequel is released, as long as it kicks ass!
