Ever since the announcement of a Japanese release date for Final Fantasy XIII – December 17 , if you've been living in a cave – the news from the FFXIII Premiere Party in Tokyo has continued to flow.
Oh boy, it must've been a party. First of all, as most of you FF fans know, it is often a tradition for each new release to have its very own theme song; FFXII featured artist Angela Aki singing "Kiss Me Goodbye," for example. Well, it's fresh-faced Sayuri Sugawara crooning "Because You're With Me" for Final Fantasy XIII , and she performed it live during the aforementioned party. In addition, Square-Enix has taken another promotion step by allying with beverage producer Suntory to create "Elixir." They've done this before – make commercial drinks based on potions found in FF titles – and they're doing it again…but this drink could be downright dangerous. According to the GameSpot coverage , it has three times the caffeine of the other Suntory energy drinks, and it even includes royal jelly and plenty of Vitamin B. Er…does anyone remember when some kid's heart exploded back in the '80s when he jammed down Jolt, Pixie Sticks, and Coke all at the same time? Well, the Japanese better just take it easy with this thing.
They'll even offer a boxed set of this Elixir. It surely won't see the light of day here in North America, but maybe that's a good thing. It'd be interesting to taste it, though…
