Well, maybe you can ask your boss for a raise. Maybe you can hit a big winner on the stock market. You'll need something to happen if you want to snag all these pricey special editions that are coming your way this fall.
This is the "Renegade Edition" of DJ Hero , as revealed by Joystiq ; check out the available gallery of screenshots. For what appears to hold a cost higher than $120, you will receive a special turntable, hardshell case that converts into a sleek stand, and a two-disc CD set of Jay-Z and Eminem music that boasts several previously unreleased tracks. It's true that publishers are going all out with such crazy editions and we can only hope they're not overshooting their goal; it's nice to be ambitious, but the majority of consumers don't have bottomless wallets. It's very likely that most will simply choose their most anticipated game and spring for the special edition, but with these prices, even that could pose a problem. Still, the music boom continues and we have every confidence that there are plenty of hardcore fans out there who will spend almost any amount of cash to nab fancy extras.
The question is, do you count yourself as a member of that group? Which Collectors Edition might you be willing to buy this fall? Will it be the DJ Hero Renegade Edition? We'll let you know when we find a price…

special edition of this game? thats mighty presumptuous of them. I don't think this game is going to do all that well in the first place, but maybe thats just me.
Feeling an epic fail. Too much of these games now.
Aye, I noticed that when they released that pile of sh**e of Guitar Hero on the DS, Its like a babies first key board, very simplstic.
Feels like everyone wants to jump on the bandwagon for fast cash. Unless it was an add on for Rock band or Guitar hero, it would sell. But by itself, going against those two big giants, nah not happening.
this "game" looks sh*t and that's not worth $120

Agreed! almost 1/2 the price for system. And we have people who are whining about PS3 is too expensive and they drop this.
i love the idea of CEs but seriously…. it is getting to be a bit much when every single game coming out is getting one
i only have so much money!! damn!
If they have DJ Krush and DJ Shadow on this game, I'm sold.
I'm all for DJ Shadow but DJ Krush? C'mon. That's like siding with Adam F after his first album. I still don't know what to think of this game. Sounds more gimmick but I'll still keep an open mind about it until I play with it. I just can't see myself spending all of this money for these games with peripherals. Companies crying for a price cut and they come out with this. That's some great marketing, people.
This "game" is so silly to start with, anyone see the tracklist for this game? Almost entirely rap/hip-hop/vocal music. Being a DJ-game, what about using club music instead? As it stands now it's like having Guitar Hero bundled with flute and piano ballads.

Am I the only one who thinks that sounds awesome?
as far as special editions go, AC2 Black Ed. looks like itll be the only thing that gets my special edition dollars.
As an Activision product I expect to have to pay extra just for living in the UK.
Thankfully this looks like being a big bag of sh1te so I won't be missing anything when I don't buy it.
God I hate Activision. Also , US citizens and gamers outside of the UK, don't blame me when the big MW2 con in the UK works and leads to more big releases going up in price even during a recession-cos I won't be buying it!
Not unless IW themselves distance themselves from the dirty deed-then I'll import it but as it stands it's preowned or pirated on a chipped 360, which I'd never usually do or support.
NVG's all the way baby! Reserved my Prestige Edition today and I can't flipping wait.
Activision's looking more and more like organized crime.
