Ben-DutkaWell, we're wrong again. This time, we figured the winner would be Final Fantasy VI , as many old-school fans say they actually prefer it to FFVII (weirdos, but whatever), and as it was on the now-archaic SNES, it might most benefit from a next-gen remake.
However, we definitely underestimated the number of Final Fantasy VIII fans around here, as that's the remake you want most besides FFVII. Even more surprisingly, FFVI didn't even manage to come in second, as Final Fantasy X landed the second-most votes; guess a lot of you wanna see the curvaceous Lulu in HD, huh? Well, clearly not as many who want to see the unbelievable intro and ending of FFVIII recreated in high-definition, which admittedly would be amazing. Is it possible that one game has the single best intro and ending in video game history…? Eh, probably not, but when it first arrived on the market over ten years ago, that was very likely a fact. Some didn't like the departure from a more standard setup and couldn't wrap their heads around the Junction system, but the fantastic storyline and awesome overall gameplay made FFVIII another instant classic in the legendary franchise. At first, I hated the idea of having no equipment to equip on my characters – I distinctly recall saying, "well, that sucks" – but I quickly got past that complaint after only a few hours of play.
Now, we shift gears to a new topic, driven by current events: it seems the PS3 Slim has popped up in a leaked video , and we're all wondering what might happen…will this become the default PS3 available on the market? And if so, will it be cheaper than the current model? Or is the whole thing just a hoax? Tell us what you think.

Anyway not surprised 'bout FFX hehe, that game is probably the best in the series…(helps that FFX-2 completed it)
But yes I love FFVI but the characters are not that ENGAGING and appealing imo. The story is great though
I'm just not a Squall fan. He brought down the party in my opinion. Not gonna let the main character bring down the entire game.

Totally agree with you Zubra. Squall was an immature, juvenile crybaby. I constantly hated his cut scenes. It's one thing for the hero to have inner turmoil and confusion but Squal did nothing but bi*** and moan throughout the entire game. It gold out quite quickly.
Squall was my least favorite character in the game. He needed to man up. His whining was got annoying.

Squall was 17 ppl. He can complain, and he was a lot better than Cloud IMO. I think the most "mentally stable" character was Tidus.
Squall owns because we got to look inside his head, he had good reasons to be a moper and we never got one peep into clouds thoughts, but Squall was always thinking. "When I'm dead will they talk about me this way? Saying whatever they want. I won't have it!"

I don't understand why people prefer a faceless character (like Cloud) rather than an expressive one.
There's nothing wrong with showing emotion and expressions, it leads to a more developed character. Squall developed from the very beginning into a crybaby and did nothing but complain and have zero self esteem and carried this through the entire game.

I've beat the game atleast 10 times, I love the game play. I would go as far as to suggest I'm more of a devoted FF fan than yourself.
It is possible that a game character you seem to enjoy is hated by someone else.

FFX doesn't need a remake. PS3 needs backwards compatibility.

I loved Final Fantasy VIII, it was the first FF title I've played and I've grown fond of it already. It had the best GF's/Aeons, a nice Junction system, great storyline and cutscenes. It was the only FF I've played that was complete. I really hope they do a remake on this.
BTW, I voted this game as "The Best RPG".
agree fully, Squall and Rinoa makes the best couple of all finaly fantasy games, even better than the Tidus Yuna combo. and FF8 has the coolest GFs from which all the following GFs and Aeons derive.
I still remember the craziness and toughness to fight in the backyard garden and the incredible hours I spent on to get the Tornberry, Cactus and Odin GFs in FF8, nothing better than that.

There are few couples anywhere in the history of all romantic storytelling more engaging than Tidus and Yuna. Squall and Rinoa don't even come close, IMO. That's not to say they weren't an awesome couple, though.

since BLURAY holds so much storage… they should remake all. Startin with final fantasy 1 through X-2 on a BLURAY compilation. N call it Final Fantasy Collections… n stop remakin it on handhelds… i wanna play it on my big screen tv

I dont agree because Final Fantasy VIII is perfect (ish) the way it is, to me its visually the best game ever made (in art direction not graphics), so i can understand why it won, but i really think F5/6 sshould be remade if anything
Final Fantasy V: Because its not well known ans deserves a revamp.
Final Fantasy VI: Mainly becasue i think its would be awesome.
VII – X in my opinion still look fantastic, for me they are still enjoyable and my favaourite games so i just dont think they need it.

Yeah, I voted for a VI remake. A legendary classic that has the most to gain from a remake. It just makes sense.

would make sense but I would prefer final fantasy XX on the ps4. just imagine what the game would look like when they get final fantasy XXX.

I prefer Gran Turismo 5. I suppose an FF remake of some sort is in order…but long long after Gran Turismo 5.

As far as any remake, we all have preferences but to be fair, they should start with the first and make their way up.
I really don't understand the love for FFX. Squaresoft peaked with FFVII-FFIX, and have steadily declined from there. This means I think FFVI is much better than FFX, and I played it well after. So graphics has nothing to do with VI's appeal.
I think FF13 should get a remake.
Gotta be honest here — I'm playing ffvii for the first time now, five hours in, and it's beginning to bore me to bits…
