inFamous Ad Hits Movie Theaters

Who said Sony had an issue with marketing and advertising? …oh right, we did. But hey, they seem to be taking small steps with each new major exclusive release for the PlayStation 3.

If you want evidence, head on out to the movies this weekend – maybe you wanna catch "Terminator Salvation" – and you just might find a 30-second trailer for inFamous in the previews! That's right, according to the PlayStation blog , a kick-ass trailer clip can be found on the big screen between May 22 and May 28 – the game launches on May 26 – and that's great news to all PS3 owners. Also, you might want to visit that link to check out Part 1 of Sucker Punch's comic strip that acts as a print sequel to the events in the hotly anticipated action title. Oh yeah, and make sure you get your questions in for Sucker Punch: the guys at the PS Blog have secured a live chat with a member of the development team, and as they've done in past interviews (they've already talked about Uncharted 2: Among Thieves , MAG , and White Knight Chronicles ), they will toss out fan questions. The live chat goes down Wednesday so be sure to tune in for that; we'll be certain to bring you the details, too. Sony may still have a little ways to go to rival their competitors in the marketing category, but you can always find all sorts of great updates between the PS blog and PSXE. 😉

We assume many of you have already resolved to pick up inFamous , but if you need any further convincing, you might just get it at the movies in the next week.

This is great advertising from Sony's part. I might have to see a movie just to watch the trailer from inFamous in the big screen but I need to decide which movies right now are worth watching.

Most views from a movie is in its first weekend. And most movies don't even stay in theaters for more than 2 weeks. 7 days is a good amount.

inFamous combines two of my favorite things: Superheroes and lightning.

I might have to skip MAG, too many FPS. I'm into TPS now… at least you can see the main character in action.

I'm definitely going to keep my eye out for the trailer while watching Terminator.

Hmmm…this is actually a + on Sony's advertising/marketing part. To show an ad even if it's just 30 second before Terminator Salvation would surely make the game get noticed and make it sell. Good job Sony. Wish you the best.

at least they do that with a good exclusive game unlike microsoft was doing with Resident Evil 5 an awful game in a way like it was only for Xbox 360.

Cole sort of does resemble Christian Bale in Terminator Salvation, right? I think it's a great idea. Fans of action movies will be the perfect target audience for infamous.

Also about the PS Blog, I just started to follow it, but they have really been doing an excellent job of giving out early info for White Knight, Infamous, Uncharted 2, & MAG.

Well Sony,
It's a good start, but with the ecomony the way it is today, I think more people are staying home watching their TV's than going out anywhere, especially movies where it has a higher cost factor & some movies are actually crap too.

So you need to get your advertizing department's collective a*ses in gear & start advertising where it will actually do the most good hitting the most people thereby getting you the most exposure…"TELEVISION"
