John-ShepardMany are wondering just how well Killzone 2 is faring on the sales charts since its release in late February. Well, according to Sony, it's doing quite well.
As far as they're concerned, KZ2 is already a success; according to GameDaily, around 500,000 copies have been sold in the U.S. alone. And as SCEA vice president of marketing, Scott Steinberg, said, the game has "set the record as the most pre-ordered SCEA PS3 title to date." After it managed to explode onto the market, it then became "the fastest SCEA PS3 title to break the 500,000 unit mark and it's also the highest selling SCEA PS3 title for the first 30 days out of launch." The good news is that the game continues to sell; after selling around 323,000 copies in February, it was able to rack up more significant sales in the month of March. We'll have to wait until the NPD Group reveals their software sales numbers for the month, but if Sony's half-million estimate is accurate, it's definitely a good sign for continued KZ2 popularity. We still say they could've done a better job on the marketing campaign end of things, but at the very least, it's good to see great sales for one of the generation's most impressive titles to date.
Now, all we need is the announcement of Killzone 3 ! …okay, we might have to wait a while for that, but KZ2 was such an intense experience, we wouldn't mind going through it a few more times before that seemingly inevitable announcement arrives.

Only played the demo and it seemed fun but I myself and low on funds. It's great that the game is selling wonderfully though.
Sweeeeeet, can't wait for the upcoming DLC too. KZ2 is a must own, even if you aren't an FPS nut.

I know technology has changed DRAMATICALLY from KZ1 to KZ2 but good gosh this game is retardedly fun. I went out and bought the first one last year and was…a tad bit letdown, I'm not even sure if I still have it but am i GLAD KZ2 was the first game for 09 on my list.
Did anyone else listen to all of the commentaries on the interactive commercial? They were talking about the new technologies and improvements they had made to the engine already. Sounds to me like they're already prepping for KZ3.
Can't wait to hear about the DLC tonight!

You are retarded if you don't have this great title. I stop playing WAW because of how fun and addicting this title is. Instead of prestiging over and over again, you level up once to the highest rank. Then all you have to do is unlock all of the ribbons that lead to awesome combination perks to make your character stronger etc… Just buy the game PERIOD!
I wouldn't say retarded… maybe just short on sixty bucks.
Not a big FPS fan, but I do appreciate any good game. Killzone 2 is that. I really enjoyed it. Great work.
Just beat it on veteran.. was the only difficulty for me left to complete. Let's just say it was money well spent!

I always kited him around the large monument in the center of the room. When he starts firing just run to the opposite side and stay there until you regain health, then fire again. But if you do it this way if you have to be really aware at his position as he can teleport like 9 times in 5 seconds lol.

Other then money issues I don't understand why other ps3 owners don't get this game already.To me this game is underrated really…GG did an amazing job on this game and this is coming from a guy who hadn't bought a FPS since Half-life 2(played COD 4 & 5 in friends house, don't like games taking place in WWII).Recommend it for those who like/dislike FPS shooters.
Full disclosure. I own and love this game. I'm also over 30 with 3 kids and had to turn it off due to language more than anything else when there were around. I'm all for M rated games but for those of us with kids you do have to balance whats best for your family and if you really want to wait until their in bed and play to 1am and try to go to work the next day.
Like Gears of War this is one game where the cuss words didn't add to the story or gameplay. Seemed unnecessary although I am in no way advocating censorship just saying that for many people this may be to M for the family room and affect sales.

Killzone 2 is like a fine wine. Sales of the game will continue at a steady pace… It is a must buy for the majority of gamers; i believe new converts to the PS3 will go out and purchase it when the get their systems… so I see sales being long term for this title and staggered…
When all the dust settles, I am sure Killzone 2 would have racked up between 2-4 million in sales – maybe more… just a matter of time…

I'm at the end of the single player campaign. It's a cool game for sure, but Im actually kinda disappointed after all the praise I've read.
KZ2 is the first title that has actually made my 360 playing friends get a distant look in their eyes and look depressed. Kinda like Ralphie and the BB gun from Christmas Story.
Well tell em' to get a PS3 and this game. And buy some more games in the future. 😀
Thats funny….i was just in bestbuy the other day and they had a top 10 games list for PS3 and KZ 2 was not even on it. I though it funny since they didn't have any copys in at the time.

Glad that the game is performing well. Gosh I always wonder why whenever I walk into a place like Gamestop, Best Buy, or Target they never have a Killzone 2 demo up. They always have a LittleBigPlanet demo, Naruto demo, Soul Calibur 4 demo, Skate 2 demo, and etc.
Can't they update it? I mean those were for…summer/fall 2008? We are now in Spring 2009! But oh well…maybe I could make a request or something who knows.

KZ3 probably wont be announced till 2011 or 2012… cuz Killzone 2 took 4 years to make… and has such great quality. Also it took them so much time and money to make the game… so if they released it in 2010 they would know that it would do bad
