Ben-DutkaBefore anybody gets too excited, this isn't an exact confirmation; we're merely relaying the information we've just received from Sony and interpreting the words within the release.
SCEA has sent out a press release announcing Killzone 2 as the leader of the pack for this year's 2009 PlayStation 3 blockbusters. As part of the announcement, SCEA confirmed that a new TV advertising campaign would kick off this week; it's called the "Bullet" commercial, and they say the "new ad was rendered entirely in-engine via the incredible power of the Killzone 2 engine and PS3 technology to preserve the unique visual and epic gameplay experience." Said the game's Managing Director, Hermen Hulst:
"Every single frame of this commercial was directly rendered on a PS3 without the need for additional tweaking or touching up. We're very proud that our game engine technology has reached the point where we don't have to resort to software pre-rendering. In that regard it is a testament to our commitment to deliver on what we promise. What you see is what you get."
But that may not be the most interesting part of the release. In addition to this KZ2 advertising announcement, there's a comment that involves the upcoming list of awesome PS3 exclusives. Now, they're referring to 2009, so…
"The game [Killzone 2] ushers in an unprecedented year of titles to hit the PlayStation platform throughout the year including the blockbuster exclusives Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, inFamous, MAG, Heavy Rain, God of War III and MLB 09 The Show.
Do you see God of War III in that list? We do. The others, with the possible exception of MAG , aren't exactly surprising and we figured they would all arrive in 2009. But the latest assumption is that GoWIII wouldn't drop until early next year; probably March. Does this mean Kratos' final – and likely most amazing – adventure will be available for this year's holiday season…?

You should buy GoW 1 & 2 you can get them both used at gamestop for under $30 bucks II have to finish GoW 2 before GoW 3 releases.

Release dates can change games get pushed back and pushed up all the time.
GameStop ain't your most reliable source, lol especially when it comes to ps3.
That's called a place holder date, in other words they have no frikin' idea so they just took a good guess.

yea i've only seen like 1 ad for KZ2 and i think that is was on youtube sony's advertising sucks!!
Ive been seeing K2 ads here in the UK…hell…yesterday I even saw a LBP one!
Wow, If it does come out this year than we could see the PS3 getting a lot of sales this year, specially if they drop the price…

I just watched an interview with the Santa Monica team and the art directer and lead programmer started working on the God of War 3 engine in March 2005. They have been working on that engine for four years. The game itself for at least two.
I think that makes a 2009 launch plausible don't you?

yes i seen this go up all over the web this morning im glad u guys are on top of it cus i was posting links like crazy anyways this is good news i hope GOW3 comes out this year, assuming its done right, i dont think they'd let this one release just to get it out early though, they'll make sure its tip top before we play it!
The KZ2 ad is pretty sweet im drooling already, and i havnt even seen it in HD yet!

I hope it does but if they release them all too early and "right after the other" like last year then there going to see dissapointing sales. Unless, they bring down the price. Either way, Sony's going to see positive results, either moderately or massive.
This is a lie. A game this epic would take a good 3-5 years to make,and I think that its not coming out until holiday 2010!

Well guys, well all know what God of War is, we know what Uncharted is..
But WTF is MAG? Last year when it was "unveiled", it was just a video of hundreds of soldiers. That's it.
I want MAG details. I'm not even a big military shooter fan, I just wanna know what exactly what MAG's all about other than looking insanely ambitious.
It's a MMO…or, more like a MMMO (one more "Massive").
They say there's going to be as many as 150+ soldiers on the same battlefield at once. This is really all we know right now.

in my opinion either gow3 or gt5 will get make it this year the other will have to wait.

as for MAG, it's gonna be a pass if it comes with a subscription fee. $60 for the game is expensive enough, you're not gonna get any more cash out of me unless you're Burnout or Warhawk ^_^
they haven't said its pay to play yet, plus mag is suppose to be a warhawk meets socom meets another 234 players, its made by zipper I mean come on

MAG looks like some fun to be haved, even if no gameplay footage has been showed I am ubber excited for it plus sony seems to be as well I mean they gave up socom. go zipper lol
Zipper didn't give up Socom, they let Slant Six do Socom Confrontation while they were developing MAG. I got Confrontation on day one and it was pretty rocky. After a few updates it got better but never grabbed me like Socom 1 or 2 did. Hopefully when Zipper returns to do Socom 4 the franchise gets back that oompf it lost. But I'm definitely interested in MAG and think it will be free also, Socom & Warhawk are both online only games and are free.

Unless Sony's fiscal year ends on a calendar (Dec. 31) year because sometimes they do end on a calendar year.
I think GOW3 will come this year. There are still good games for 2010. Twisted Metal???? what happened to that? GT5, Team ICO project. We'll see though.
I have not play God Of War 1 or 2 but i have seen all the videos on youtube and i am going 2 get God Of War 3. Also MAG looks amazing, even though there sin't any gameplay yet i'm hoping its the next COD4
