We all figured it would happen, but it's never a good idea to assume anything without official confirmation. And now we have it.
Thanks to a recent interview with GameTrailers, CEO and president of Level 5, Akihiro Hino, has revealed that White Knight Chronicles will indeed arrive in North America at some point. Unfortunately, he didn't reveal an estimated launch window, but it's just good to know it's definitely coming. On the subject of cross-region online play for WKC – will NA gamers be able to play with Japanese gamers? – Hino would neither confirm or deny that option, but simply said they "haven't decided" what to do yet. This leads everyone to believe that if it's possible, Level 5 will work to make it happen; it's a feature that could really boost WKC's appeal here in the U.S. On the other hand, if word of Famitsu's relatively low review score continues to spread, Level 5 may have to do some serious promoting to get the game to sell 'round these parts. This is a title that sold very well in Japan, but considering the Eastern tastes, we have the feeling it would've sold plenty of copies even if it had scored poorly. North American gamers, who don't typically flock to JRPGs, may need to see some great critic feedback before taking the $60 chance…
But anyway, White Knight Chronicles is coming, and we're happy with that information for now. Next up: the rumored release date articles, which we imagine are just around the corner.

what about us in england. we always get screwed by sony.
YATA first post!
When it comes to Europe, all three give us the shaft. That isn't exclusively Sony territory. They share the crown with Nintendo.
Microsoft tailor their stuff on Live to North America. I'd hate to be browsing from Japan though. They get little to no love.
Oh, and will WKC be a Lost Odyssey beater? Time will tell.

Honestly I think WKC will do better than Lost Odyssey at least on it being a better game. I didn't like Lost Odyssey that much personally. It was a good game don't get me wrong I just got tired of it by the end. But, like you said time will tell.
Seriously? Europe gets screwed? Last I checked, the U.K. received many more second-tier (not blockbusters, but cool import games nonetheless) PS2 games from Japan than the U.S.
What? they didn't even give a launch window???
I hope that the low score do not effect the sales here in NA as Level 5 was saying if it did sell well then they would do some exclusives which the PS3 sorely needs in the RPG area.
Famitsu has not been somehow tied to MS in anyway have they? j/k but I would not put it past MS to at this point start greasing some palms to get some low scores out there on a game that could hinge a companies decision to go exclusive.
Here is to hoping it does well and we have a new Square-like studio in the Sony bag minus the back stabby deceit
Unless something has changed, before April.

Old article, refers to the Japanese release which came out earlier than anticipated.
YES!! I almost brought this up a few times but I didn't want to jinx it, there's always that nagging possibility that they won't release a great RPG outside of Japan. This is a $60 chance I will be taking, I don't give a rip about the online just gimme this game soon!
I hope this doesn't turn into the JRPG equivalent of Two Worlds. People were getting excited at the concept of a co-op RPG. Personally, I think RPGs are meant to be played alone. I know I am not alone in that belief.
But, while I knew Two Worlds was going to flop… A no name developer trying to do way too much, constant delays, et cetera, I don't have the same feeling of dread about this title.
I don't think it will meet expectations of many here, but thats ok. It'll still be a very enjoyable game I am sure.
I agree with you that RPG should be a single player experience but I have high hopes for this one anyway.
Two Worlds was horrendous and it did not translate very well at all. And Topware Interactive is probably on their last leg anyway. The only good thing they ever did was Earth 2150 and then that didn't do so well because StarCraft was the same thing but simpler and more user-friendly and then when they popped out 2160 they just screwed themselves over. And 2140 was the first one but no one ever heard of it.

You only think they should be played alone because you have never played Diablo II or Titan Quest.
Day one buy for me, if it comes to U.S long before Europe I am importing instantly.
Same here Blink. I'm gonna pre-order this one.
How many times can I say "I can't wait for this game?"
This is my "Most Anticipated" of 2009.

Will buy
I also want to see what psxe will give it.
I'd wait for western reviews. I don't care about the low score in Famitsu.
Can i just have my WKC already lol 😀
No offence to you north americans, but what a surprise, sony screws us europeans again!!!, was really hyped for this game might give it a miss now.
Import it, no sense passing on a great game.
yeah… what he said ^
I still dont understand the hype of this game, the comabt looked awful and the creatures badly pixelated, What really ticks me off is people calling this a FF competitor is just absurd!
You're both ridiculous (or live in some alternate reality). WKC's graphics and combat system both look freakin awesome. And Valkyria Chronicles has really good graphics! Just because it's not hyper-realistic doesn't automatically make it "bad."
-Arvis
arvis dont mind ultima, he is always negative about something
If you've played a Level 5 RPG then you know they are capable of great things, that's how it gets the FF competitor rap.

looks can be decieving
I did some research on why it got such a low score. The problem was that Famitsu reviewed the whole package. The online part of the game apparently sucks ***. But Famitsu hailed the single-player gameplay as pretty awesome.
so….
Sucks *** + Pretty aweosme = myeh…okay scores.
I don't really care about online play, so that's okay.
I'm not being rediculous Arvis, i just dont see whats appealing with the game other than it being the 1st fantasy styled RPG to hit the PS3… from the gameplay footage it just seems rather avarage in my opinion. certainly not a contender for FFXIII.
kinda funny seeing as though no footage has been released thats hows extended gameplay footage for FF13 to compare it with
