Final Fantasy Record Keeper Releases In US This Spring

In order to remind ourselves of the former glory of the legendary Final Fantasy franchise, we need to have this.

Square Enix and mobile developer DeNA have announced that Final Fantasy: Record Keeper , a free-to-play Android and iOS game, is headed to North America this spring.

It was previously released in Japan last September; it basically rolls all the classic FF titles into one highlight-driven title. The game boasts well-known protagonists like Cloud, Tidus, and Terra, and they're all shown off in a classic pixelated format. Players can create all-star teams of their favorite characters and relive some of the most memorable moments in series history. It even has an original story that walks you through various magical paintings.

The game has been downloaded over 5 million times in Japan already. If you wish to pre-register, head over to the game's official site . Pre-registering unlocks Tidus from Final Fantasy X .

I have like five apps that I actually use on my phone. But I feel compelled to get this.

Watching a couple of the clips on that page gave me goosebumps. So… I'll check it out.
