Over the weekend, Sony confirmed it was the victim of a DDoS (Denial of Service) attack, similar to the one that took down the PlayStation Network back in 2011. No personal information was accessed, but it did hinder the PSN's services.
Then, a bomb threat sent in – by the same hacker group, apparently – rerouted a flight carrying Sony Online Entertainment president John Smedley. As reported by Polygon , the group in question Tweeted that they've been receiving reports about "explosives on-board the flight." Smedley later confirmed that his flight was being diverted to Phoenix, Arizona:
"Something about the security and our cargo. Sitting on Tarmack."
Let's just say that with such wackjobs out there, I've got no interest in sharing a flight with anyone in Smedley's line of work.
wow… That is completely out of line, and the FIB better do something about this. They said MS was next, so they better get their shit in gear. This cyber terrorism is beyond bullshit.
Apparently there have been some intermittent MS server issues today.
However Microsoft has responded quickly and it seems they won't be as badly affected as the 3 other companies who were hit.
This seems to be a generic attack on all the biggest gaming companies. Sony, Blizzard, Riot Games, and now Microsoft.
MS was lucky they had plenty of time to prepare for the attack. Other companies will also be preparing for this now.

I really wouldn't be surprised if it was some jackass that got mad about the Destiny timed exclusives.
They're so clever. First, they ruin everyone's day who pay for the service with their hard earned money. Then, they ground a flight full of people who have nothing to do with this stupidity.
Everyone suffers at the hands of some quirky idiots. Yay.
They are the digital kids who spray paint or egg your garage door at night. The lone mosquito in your room at 5am you can't find. The neighbor's cat that occasionally leaves a dead mouse on your front lawn. The whiny kid at the shopping center who's mom never put them down for a nap.
I can't believe these kids are actually proud of being little pieces of shit.
