If everything goes smoothly, the "Uncharted" movie will finally begin filming early next year. And no, it wont' be a rehash of the stories already told in the games; it'll be an entirely new plot.
As director Seth Gordon told Zap2It :
"I think very early next year. That's the plan. That's like tomorrow, essentially, because the prep is so complicated for the movie."
Gordon directed "Horrible Bosses" and "Identity Thief," and now he needs a lead actor for the "Uncharted" movie. When David O. Russell was in the director's chair, it was going to be Mark Wahlberg, but now they need to find someone else. Gordon says he wants it to be a "great actor" and he added that because the game is so well done, they have to "live up" to that performance.
Too bad it couldn't have been Nolan North or Nathan Fillion. Too old now, I guess.

A Noname director I've never heard of. Looking at his director credits on imdb all I see is a few episodes of tv shows, and 3 badly rated movies I've never heard of (all comedies).
Yeah, I'm sure he'll be able to "live up" to the quality of the Naughty Dog Uncharted games… If you're gonna do a movie-adaption of one of your best game franchises, do it right or better yet don't do it at all!
Horrible Bosses was actually pretty damn funny. Identity Thief on the other hand…ehhhhh…the less said about it the better.
I don't think I've been excited for a movie based game as much as I am for this one. Sure there was Silent Hill I took some girls on dates but this one is going to be special. I kind of wish Sony would start that damn Bioshock movie they have license too, or start The Last Of Us. Uncharted's great too though I guess.
You took girls on dates to see Silent Hill? As in, multiple dates with different ladies? How long was it even in theatres for? Was it even in theatres?
If it was in theatres, it couldn't have been there more than 2 weeks or so. And you took girl(s) on date(s) to see it… that's a short time frame… at what point did you realize that same exact plan wasn't working?

No comedy people writing an adventure that has comedy on the side. This setup sounds awful. Next thing will be Seth MacFarlane in makeup as Sully and Seth Rogan as Nathan.
Hopefully this mess goes the way of all messes and dies
Remember it was Wells and Balestra who wanted Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg to write the script for the movie? At this rate we'll get Armie Hammer as Drake and Michael Chiklis as Sully.

Why is Sony so fixated on releasing an Uncharted movie? No matter who writes it and/or who directs it, as long as ND isn't involved in any way no one is going to like it.
Sweet cant wait for this movie as for ND is or isnt involved i dont really care. There busy making Uncharted for the Ps4 the very best game that it could be

I think they should cast a relatively unknown actor as Drake and then fill the supporting cast with stars.
