And by better, we mean historical. After the recent excavation that resulted in the discovery of over 1,300 E.T.: The Extra Terrestrial Atari 2600 cartridges, the Alamogordo City Commission has announced that about 700 of those cartridges will go on sale.
As reported by Polygon , they will be on sale at the New Mexico Museum of Space History. The games are now being called "artifacts," as the remaining 600 or so will be donated to local museums. As for price, the recovered cartridges will be appraised to determine their value; after that happens, they'll be sold off with a certificate of authenticity. And yes, there is a chance that some will be sold online.
Interestingly enough, there are over 700,000 games still left in the landfill! Alamogordo mayor Susie Galea says they might create a tourist attraction at the site…wouldn't that be something? Back in 1982, nobody would've predicted this in a million years.
see guys. this is why we can't go all digital. humanity would miss out on excavations for precious gaming artifacts.
So, a videogame crash is another man's treasure I suppose.
I think Super Street Fighter 2 for SNES was another game produced way beyond what it sold.

yea its a piece of history and memorabilia, but that is like buying the piece of shrapnel dug out of your granfathers brain that killed him in WWII.
