Anyway, as reported by Variety , Sony Pictures has given us a release date for the old-school nod to video games called "Pixels:" May 15, 2015.
The movie features Adam Sandler, Kevin James, Michelle Monaghan, Josh Gad and Peter Dinklage, while Chris Columbus is the director. Tim Herlihy and Timothy Dowling are penning the script, and it's based on the short film directed by Patrick Jean and produced by One More Production. The story is about aliens misinterpreting video feeds of classic arcade games and declaring war against those fictional beings…which of course means they attack Earth, and they model their invasion after those games.
It sounds like a great idea, and especially appealing to those who lived through the early Golden Age of the industry. You know, when titles like Galaga ruled the roost.
Hmmm, not my age of gaming to be fair, I really started gaming late into the NES era but the only game I am really fond of still from the NES is Super Mario Bros 3. The Sega Megadrive/Genesis is where I really began to play games.
The plot sounds weird… but I won't count it out until I see a trailer.
This movie will be so terrible, even if someone halfway talented was in the lead role instead of Adam Sandler.
kind of sounds like a rip off of a Futurama episode..
