Can't afford the CE but it's gonna be great to continue the epicness, Xillia was the best in the series I think. But taking Dragon Age into account I dunno if I can make it day 1, let's see if there's any preorder incentives between now and then.

I usually cannot tolerate generic anime art design in JRPG's but Tales out of most of them seem to have it more together than something like Time & Eternity or Hyperdimension Neptunia of Whatever…

Sadly though after looking at a review of the first game, it seems the game resorts to the 'Visual Novel' design to cop out on dialogue interaction between characters, which is baffling because its seems that the game has many other sequences which are cutscenes and others which use the 3D character models in scenes… why couldn't that have all been like that or the very least just have dialogue text boxes on the lower half or the screen like Nier or many other JRPGs. But in choosing to have the Visual Novel design they have lost my interest.

Visual novel is a time honored form of art attached to the series, that it is still there but not overwhelming the interactions of the game is, to me, a good indicator that the series isn't leaving its roots behind. Certain interaction, especially comedic ones, are achieved in that format imo.

Nope vivi wrong. It uses cutscenes. Visual novel for Tales are completely optional side skits which also happen to be nicely fast paced/convenient.

It is not visual novel and never will be. Have you seen the games?

There was another member who made this wrong assumption too and it baffles me.

Not a visual novel. Real RPG goodness.

I know what you mean with your complaint from your comment btw but the skits are not bad at all. You just have to try it 🙂

If you skip them because of dislike then what do you miss? Characters still developed through main game 🙂

The bad thing about this is TIME. TIME is the number one factor on why, when I buy these games, they sit for months before I get to play them. These games are piling up.

I do really enjoy the first one, but I don't know if I'll pay 60 bucks for this one. Only paid 10 for the first tales.

I know what you mean, Xillia really dropped in price about 5 months later, but sitting out that 5 months might not be something I can do.
