Ben-DutkaStill hoping for a Demon's Souls sequel?
Well, don't hold your breath. Atlus PR manager John Hardin shot down such a possibility in a response to a fan at the PlayStation Blog . When asked if we might eventually see Demon's Souls 2 , Hardin answered definitively:
"Can 100 percent confirm there will NOT be a Demon's Souls 2. :("
The fan wanted to know if we might see the sequel on the PlayStation 4. The problem is that Sony Japan owns the IP so as Hardin says, "that's Sony's call." He later clarified to GameSpot that it isn't "technically impossible" but you probably shouldn't count on it. Don't despair, though, that's what Dark Souls 2 is for, right?
The latter launches this month, so take solace in that.
right, so its 100% not happening, meaning its never going to happen, but then he says its not impossible so it might happen, even though its 100% not going to happen.

Why would someone even ask for Demon's Souls 2? For all intents and purposes, Dark Souls *is* Demon's Souls 2, and Dark Souls 2 is part 3. Dark Souls 2 isn't, to the best of my knowledge, a proper sequel to Dark Souls, so there'd be no reason to believe Demon's Souls 2 would pick up where the first left off.
Now i think i'll go complain on the internet about how Namco never made Soul Edge 2.
Loved Demon's Souls. Brilliant game. No need for a sequel. Leave it as the gem it is.
