Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate Set For Consoles, PC

If you don't have a Vita but always wanted to play this title, we've got good news.

Warner Bros. has announced that Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate is headed to consoles. It will release for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii U and PC on April 2. It'll be available digitally and it'll hold a price tag of $19.99.

This 2.5D side-scrolling experience was a solid companion to last year's Arkham Origins , and the new version will feature new maps, enemy encounters, batsuits and difficulty levels. It will also boast "enhanced visuals," which one might expect considering the new platforms. The game offers an interesting combination of stealth and action and I'm wondering if developer Armature Studio will clean up the camera issues…

Blackgate had a lot of potential but it wasn't fully realized . That being said, with a bunch of upgrades and a cost of only $20, it's probably well worth your time.

I'm happy to see the amount of porting that's been done this past generation of gaming. I remember way back in the day (the 90s) my dad asked me why there were different game companies and why games couldn't be available multiple hardware. Well dad, you're getting your wish.

Now if we could only get Sony to release Uncharted, TLoU, and Infamous on the PC…

I've been wondering about this one. Is it worth it to grab for my Vita? Or am I better off waiting?

porting games from the vita just gives gamers a reason to not buy a vita if you ask me. I love my vita, just wish it had more support.

I'm never going to understand how the ds gets so much love and the vita gets ignored.

Well to be fair, this game was not exclusive to Vita. It also came out for the 3DS.

So its not like they're taking away an exclusive title away from Vita. It was multiplatform from the start.

Bonampak makes a good point, but I agree with what you're saying kraygen. First Assassin's Creed Liberation got ported, now this… If we did get a Bioshock game on the Vita, would that just be ported over eventually anyways?

I can understanding porting Vita games like AC: Liberation onto the consoles because, basically, they're more oriented for console-like play, but 3DS games are quite another matter, unless you want that nostalgia kick that most high-profile games offer. This and Castlevania with their 2D Metroidvania layout; RE: Revelations with its old-school horror (mainly because the 3DS isn't really a good platform for the action stylings of more recent RE titles). Just seems a bit absurd. But at least it gives these games a new lease on life.

Kinda wish they would do it for the best games too, though. The problem is the best have all been published by Nintendo, so it's never going to happen 🙁

another reason i cant justify buying a vita.
99% of games it receives are already available on other systems, and the 1% that arent normally are so after a few months.
i just cant justify spending 300+ bucks on something that can play games worse than something i already have!
