According to a report in the Japan Times , one of the country's most noted composers is a fraud.
It's Resident Evil and Onimusha composer Mamoru Samuragochi, who has admitted that over the past decade, someone else has been writing his arrangements. This includes what he dubbed his best achievement, a piece called "Hiroshima Symphony," dedicated to those who lost their lives in the 1945 atomic explosion.
Samuragochi's lawyer informed everyone that the "modern Beethoven" is apologetic. He "deeply regrets" his actions and he calls them "totally inexcusable." He didn't even write the piece entitled "Sonatina for Violin," which will be featured at the Winter Olympics this month. Samuragochi is deaf, so that's how the comparison to Beethoven came about…but obviously, he ain't no Beethoven.
He decided to admit everything after NHK aired a documentary featuring Samuragochi touring the tsunami-devastated Tohuku region of Japan. He met with survivors and was even shown composing a requiem for a little girl who lost her mother. Faking that is just plain sick, so maybe that's what finally pushed him to confess.
Like I said, not good.
Nothing says "deeply apologetic" quite like speaking through your lawyer.

That was so unacceptable, particularly that stunt with using the tsunami survivors. Wow. Just wow.
With what he did with both the Hiroshima & Tsunami survivors, he actually makes Milli Vanilli look good in comparison.
BTW, in regards to the Resident Evil games, this guy only 'composed' music from the Dual-Shock version of RE1,

Wow, I wonder if he plans to name the real talent and give them credit.
Perhaps it's not a big surprise though in Japan where proxy performances and fictional talent are common.

Confessing is always better than waiting to get caught. The punishment is usually lighter. Even though coming clean is the right thing to do, I will be removing all the Samuragochi posters from my walls

LOL. Sarcasm of course. This is the first time I've heard the guys name. I know Underdog was joking too. If there were any posters on my wall, they wouldn't be male.

Typical. This is exactly what was going on with the real Beethoven in the 18th century. Ludwig van Beethoven was a fraud. Yep this is reality your brain tells you, everytime you read something like this. Reality=Everything amazing, fantastical, intriguing, inspiring that you see, yeah flush that all down the toilet. I heard the scandal was about him not being deaf like he claims, not over him having a ghostwriter for his music.
