Valkyria Chronicles 3 English Translation A Gift To JRPG Fans

First, ardent fans of the original Valkyria Chronicles were annoyed that Sega was only bringing the sequel to the PSP.

Then, they get annoyed all over again when they learned that Sega wouldn't be localizing Valkyria Chronicles 3 . It has been a rough ride for supporters of the franchise that live outside of Japan, but never fear: An English translation is here!

Courtesy of a few diligent fans who translated the entire game from start to finish, the translation is now available for download. You can grab it here if you're so inclined, and remember that it'll work with the Extra Edition of the game, as well as on Vita. There are only a few small side areas and bonus missions that aren't translated, but even those will be turned into English thanks to another patch, scheduled for later. Or, you could just learn Japanese.

It's usually not a good idea to install custom firmware on your console but hey, desperate times call for desperate measures. Just bear in mind that it's a risk; don't say we didn't warn you.

There should be a collection for the PS4 or at the very least, the Vita!

This news makes me sad. Good to know that the project is finally complete, but it's too little, too late for me. I don't even know where my PSP is anymore, truth be told. Sega needs to rerelease the entire series and announce a new VC, damnit!

Glad to hear they got it done, Sega missed out on an opportunity in releasing it over here, its what has put me off the series, so far, if this works I may give the series my time.

It's just a shame that people have to resort to such drastic measure to enjoy such a game. How a game like this was not released world wide is staggering, I feel precisely the same way on Final Fantasy Type-0. If it was too late for a PSP version, a Vita version would have been sufficient or a downloadable version a the very least. Regarding FFT-0, I hear they are planning a Free2Play iOS version… the very idea of such a compromise makes my blood boil.

This could have been a huge series in America, but they gave up on it almost immediately.

Jap Devs piss me off the most. I almost didn't get Ni No Kuni because the Level 5 name was attached to it. Why you ask? White Knight chronicles 2… People in NA begged for the DLC but Level 5 just brushed them off. After the epic failure of the Dreamcast can SEGA really afford to do the same? SEGA, has been tarnished for years. Really, in all honesty almost everything with the SEGA name sucks anyway. Sonic is lame and I'm sick of these devs treating us like cash cows. If none of you can see it, then you are all as blind as you are stupid.

YES! PSP, best handheld system ever. Has all the games, plus with custom firmware…I have an unlimited amount of roms for the NES,SNES, GEN, Gameboy Advance, NEO GEO…and I buy my PSP games, gotta support!

Love this system, and this game. Now all they need is to do the same for type-o 😀
