The franchise was exclusive to PlayStation for many years, so it's not exactly surprising to get this news.
Going by an image Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima recently Tweeted , the PS3 and PS4 versions of Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes will receive exclusive content.
Ground Zeroes is the prequel to The Phantom Pain , which we'll now assume will also have exclusive bonuses on PlayStation platforms. We also learn from that image that Ground Zeroes will boast multiple missions alongside side-ops secondary missions, which good to hear. As for the prequel, it's set to launch for next-gen consoles with a $30 price tag. Current-gen versions will retail for $20 and all iterations are set for 2014.
Long-time PlayStation loyalists should receive some preferential treatment for any new MGS, don't you think?

Whenever this game releases is the day I get my PS4. Oh, who am I kidding? I'll break down by the end of January.
What if this prequel comes out and scores like a 7? There will be months and months of anger and hate. Strange, strange way of releasing a game even if you do need more money.
Name the last game Hideo Kojima produced that scored a 7 lol
Zone of the enders 1 wasn't received very well MRSUCCESS.
Otherwise he has a pretty good track record.
Yeah but this is Kojima under the umbrella of Microsoft, making big westernization changes.
Honestly, I wouldn't care about the score. This is a completely Kojima-helmed game, and there hasn't been a game yet from him that I didn't thoroughly enjoy, all the way back to the MSX. People make great games, and Hideo Kojima is good people. He knows what he's doing, even if the rest of us don't.
This is the game that they began announcing with a wink-and-nod psycho-trip trailer under a fake name to keep us guessing. That's Kojima being Kojima, if ever I've seen it. I don't think we have anything to worry about from the shift to open-world.
When Kojima isn't on the project, we can start talking about series fatigue or what's wrong. Despite great scores, I still maintain that MGS:PortableOps is a crap game. It lacked solid leadership and vision, which is what Kojima brings to the table.

In any case, my remark was about critical reception being what it is. It makes the prologue idea a gamble. We know it'll be a quality game, but its playing to a different audience this time and I think the reception has the potential to be different.
The way that Kojima has been acting and talking lately, it wouldn't surprise me any more.
Oh I have an idea, a David Hayter patch for Sony consoles.
Metal Gear Solid started on Playstation and will always stay with Playstation.
Sure, just not exclusively.
Well seeing xbox going down the drain and MGS2 was not exclusive and MGS3 was, cant wait for more Metal Gear Solid on PS4.
Games tend to get bad once they go full on multiplat though.
That might have been true in the PS3 era but not in the PS4 era
