South Park: The Stick Of Truth Suffers Yet Another Delay

So long as they get it right, we're sure the fans will forgive another delay.

Ubisoft has confirmed that South Park: The Stick of Truth will not make its intended December 10 launch date. Unfortunately, developer Obsidian Entertainment needs a bit more time; the game is now slated to arrive on March 4, 2014.

Ubisoft purchased the project from THQ back in January for $3.2 million. They said at the time that the game was almost finished but as it turns out, the designers need to give the project more TLC. Said Ubisoft North America president Laurent Detoc:

"Within three weeks after acquiring the game, we sadly realized we had to turn this thing upside down if we hoped to deliver the experience everybody wanted. It's been such a major overhaul to get to the point where we are that we couldn't let it go, even if that meant missing December."

"South Park" creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker agreed that more time was essential. Of course, they couldn't resist cracking a joke- "Getting the game up to the crappy standards of the show has been a real challenge and we're excited to say it's taken way longer than we thought it would." Here's hoping they do get it right, and Obsidian can make up for some disappointments this generation.

Love the battle system from the latest trailer. Definitely reminds me of the Mario and Luigi series for the DS.

Obsidian is capable of good things but also of horrendous missteps, I'm betting this one will turn out bad no matter how much time they give it.

I watched the newest gameplay trailer and it looks to be what every turn based RPG fan would want in a game.

I was really impressed actually. Wasn't even thinking of getting this but now I definitely will.

Slightly disappointed since I was looking forward to it for so long but also happy cause it gives me more time to save up money and plan ahead for all the other games I'm watching right now.

Saw the gameplay trailer today that Ubisoft posted on the youtubes. It NEEDS to be worked on a little longer. Its waaaaay to slow. I do like how its turn based though. Super awesome.
