Ben-DutkaIf you're all in for Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag , you'll want to consider picking up the Season Pass.
Ubisoft has announced the downloadable content lineup for the upcoming game, and they also revealed that Black Flag will have a Season Pass. No real surprise there.
The DLC will be available for all platforms (PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC), although no mention was made of the Wii U. The primary portion of DLC will focus on the nine-mission single-player storyline called Freedom Cry. This takes place 15 years after the events of the main campaign, and players will assume the role of Edward Kenway's first mate, Adewale. At that point, he has become a fully trained assassin, but he finds himself shipwrecked in Saint-Domingue with no weapons and no crew. Later DLC will provide more single-player missions, weapons, skins and collectibles, along with new characters for the multiplayer modes, if you're interested.
The Season Pass will give you access to the Kraken Ship Pack as well, which gives you more customization options for Kenway's ship. Remember that this content will not be available to purchase separately. All of Black Flag 's DLC will be released before March 2014 and the Season Pass will be ready to go at launch. Ubisoft didn't give us an exact price, but they said it would be 20 percent less than if you bought each expansion pack individually. Those savings sound pretty standard.
Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag will be ready to go on current-gen consoles and PC on October 29, and it'll be a launch game for the PS4 and Xbox One. You're getting the next-gen iteration, right?
yeah i'm getting it but i'm not sure if or when i'd get any of the DLC and if i do it'll be the whole lot like season or complete edition but i'm not a big fan of the day one DLC or close to day one, it sud be a proper expansion like star craft 2 expansion so like i guess but the DLC does sound reasonable for what i'd expect them to make you pay for it.

I never finished AC3 so not sure I'll pick this up first thing.
I don't think I'll get the season pass even if it's still available when I get the game as there's no guarantee that it will be worth the asking price without seeing what others think of it.
As I'd only be interested in the single player content then that would slice deep, if not completely eliminate, the 20% saving from the content I want from the other stuff I'd never touch.
Is there any come back if developers just decide to end the dlc releases early and you end up not securing the 20% discount level they are quoting now?

or is it going to be missions cut out of the campaign like it was in AC2?

I'm glad that little experiment (scam?) with the missing episodes being buyable in DLC form was a failure.
As much as I LOVED AC2 (best in the series, for sure), I didn't like that DLC scam they pulled.
If creating DLC for missing levels became popular, that would seriously ruin gaming for me…
I'll be interested to see the price of this + the game, just so I can laugh at how absurd it will be.
