Many will argue that Resident Evil is no longer true survival/horror.
In fact, you might find better examples of that genre elsewhere. After Dead Space decided to take a more action-oriented approach, Naughty Dog's The Last Of Us definitely had some survival overtones.
Now, Resident Evil creator Shinji Mikami wants to return to his roots and deliver a true-blue survival/horror game that requires patience, timing and tact. But above all else, it's designed to scare the sh** out of you. The new extended gameplay that has been released shows off the game we had always hoped Mikami would make. At least, that's sort of how I view it. It's more about escape and survival than it is about killing everything you see, and it's freaky as hell .
What's your take?

Take my money already.
I know right? I tossed $60 at the screen and nothing happened. 😛
haha why wasn't it sucked into the screen?
Lol
MUST. NOT. WATCH…..
Does it really look like a return to horror? If it does, I don't want to see any of it until I have a copy in my hands.
Yes, it does seem like a return to the roots of the horror genre. It looks to be a must buy for horror aficionados. After seeing this, no doubt I'm buying it!

Look like resident evil 4 but with more horror .The monster seem like more of a treat too .
Heh, that last bit when he uses the mines on the windows reminds of the when you get trapped in that cabin with Luis Sera in RE4 and you have to fend off the hoard of villagers.
This game looks great. Will definitely pick this up.

Looks way f**king cool! The part in the video where he burns the the body of the creature after he shoots it down reminds me of the Resident Evil remake for the GameCube. I wonder if they come back to life as something worse if you don't burn the bodies? Man, those crimson head zombies in the Resident Evil remake could be a real pain in the ass if you didn't burn the bodies and had to back track that area.
I thought all you need to do is just shoot their head then the Crimson Head won't come back.
Ya snaaaake , no head , no crimson .
Yes. Now I won't watch anything else on this till it releases. Gotta leave the surprises for when I'm playing it at night.
I'm not going to watch the whole thing, the trip wire or something that the guy activated alarm, I'm just going to leave at that.
I will probably not be getting it. I'm never able to finish real horror games.
