Square Enix has had server issues with the newly launched Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn , but those issues may be waning.
That's because, as reported by Joystiq , the publisher has once again started selling digital copies of the MMO. They halted sales when reports of major server problems began to come in, and this even resulted in Square Enix handing out some refunds.
So, if you think the server woes are past, you might want to give it a try. Despite the technical drawbacks, the reviews for FFXIV's re-imagining on PS3 have been pretty solid, and MMO fans ought to give it a try. Game director Naoki Yoshida and the rest of the development crew have been awfully forthcoming about any problems they encounter, and they appear dedicated to maintaining and supporting the game. And besides, isn't it a good sign that the server issues were due in part to the large number of people who were trying to play it…?
