You know about the upcoming Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag , but you probably didn't know that Ubisoft has two more AC titles on the horizon.
During the publisher's Digital Days event, Ubisoft revealed Assassin's Creed Liberation HD , a high-definition re-imagining of last year's PlayStation Vita effort . This will be coming to consoles and PC as a digital title. They also announced Assassin's Creed Pirates , featuring "brutal naval combat inspired by Assassin's Creed III , and this one is headed to smartphones and tablets.
Liberation HD features unique assassin gameplay mechanics, a solid narrative, and one of those great environments for which this franchise is so well known. The upgrade boasts "a complete graphical overhaul, remastered music and sound effects, a revamped gameplay experience, and new missions." Check out the debut trailer below.
As for Pirates , players will "explore the Caribbean during the Golden Age of piracy." You will play as Alonzo Batilla, a young and ambitious captain, and you can upgrade your crew and ship, recruit new members, and participate in real-time naval warfare.
Woo Hoo for 7 console releases of an AC game within one gen! Nobody milks it like Ubisoft… well 'cept for Activision.
This is how that game should look on Vita. I'm glad I didn't pay you Ubisoft for the original, which was full of bugs and crappy framerate.
Now, just look at Killzone and see how big titles suppose to be done on a handheld.
This. The vita version is pretty much a mess. I quit playing it a lot sooner than I usually give up on AC games. 😛
This franchise is going to come crashing down someday. It's headed the Guitar Hero route.
For further reference this is my shocked face 😐
What is the point?
Goddammit Ubisoft…AC IV is looking interesting, but I can't take all these AC titles.
I intentionally took a break from AC (played 1, 2, Brotherhood, skipped Revelations and III), just so I wouldn't get sick of the franchise.
I shouldn't have to impose limits on myself so that I can enjoy your games!
Ubisoft, you're doing it wrong…
Oh, and bringing Liberation over to consoles just defeats the point.
Exclusive experience on a handheld that differentiates it from the console? No!
We could never…! Lets just port it over in HD!
Its true that too much of a good thing is a bad thing.
I really do admire AC and enjoy the series but I'd respect it more with the releases only being AC, AC: One of Ezio's, and AC3.
I never played AC III or Liberation on Vita, out of the timeline which one comes first: Liberation or III?
AC: III = 1754 to 1783
Liberation = 1765 to 1777
So technically AC:III, Liberation just happens in between then.
Liberation might be my AC ever! Simply because she is the only playable female assassin!
For goodness sake, just end this series…!
Playing AC:III and the quality's taken a nosedive already.
I intend IV to be the last AC game I get.
i'll get it on the ps3 cos i like AC aye looks pritty gud.
happy gaming =)
Anyone else think that Pirates is just a pared back version of the naval multiplayer that was reportedly culled from Black Flag, ported to mobile so that its flaws will be glossed over?
