Don't care for the collector's edition but I do hope this game delivers. Batman Arkham City has to be on my top 10 most enjoyed games this gen.

I couldn't finish Asylum due to fatigue, as a Batman fan is there reason to believe I might play all of City?

While City feels less enclosed I'd say if Asylum didn't get you then I doubt City would either. Perhaps these games aren't right for you.

Perhaps, Asylum really blew me away at first though. They just kept moving the goalposts for me though after about 4-5 hours.

My only concern is that Rocksteady is no longer at the helm. I loved Arkham City so much that I got ultimate edtion off of steam (for $7.50) to play all the dlc as well.

Arkham City is top 3 this generation for me, the open world made it amazing, less linear and enclosed.

I'm not sure how i feel about origins though, I'm sure I'll still play it, but without rocksteady, I wont be convinced until I try it out.
