Suikoden, Valkyria Chronicles III, & More Need Localization Help

There's still some hope for fans of Japanese games that want to see more localizations.

Tales of Xillia is finally coming to North America this summer and we recently heard that Tales of Xillia 2 will be coming as well. That's all we want right? The chance to give a little love to the games that have a hard time getting out of Japan? Well, now some more games have a chance of making it to foreign shores.

The website Operation Rainfall has partnered with video game localization company Language Automation, Inc. to offer a poll for gauging interest in bringing certain titles to Western audiences. If Konami and/or SEGA agree to localize the winners of the Operation Rainfall polls LAI will offer them a discount on their services.

The games in the poll from Konami are Genso Suikoden: Tsumugareshi Hyakunen no Toki (PSP) and Beyond the Labyrinth (3DS). The games from SEGA are Valkyria Chronicles III (PSP), Yakuza 5 (PS3), Yakuza 1 & 2 HD (PS3), and Shining Hearts (PSP).

Let's show them we still love and need Japanese games by voting in the poll.

Please folks, please vote for Yakuza 5. It's being hailed as the best of the series, and us diehard Yakuza fans need your help!

I voted for it. I haven't really heard much on Yakuza 5 in all honesty, is it really that well praised. I loved Yakuza 3 so much and have just started 4, may even play some more to day now 🙂

@Ultimadesires – We've been trying to get people to sign petitions and stuff for months now, to show support for Sega to bring Yakuza 5 over, and got very modest results. There was a big campaign by the yakuzafan website, and we couldn't get any of the US gaming sites to post about it–only the European ones would. It's been pretty frustrating.

I voted for it too, I loved Yak 4 and I don't want to play a VC game on a portable.

Would someone tweet Kojima to tell Konami to make with the US Suikoden II PSN release?

The folks at the Suikoden Revival Movement are pushing for it, maybe someone will listen.

Its sad those games have not released out of japan… I notice Nintendo jrpgs tend to release in the west because even Bravely Default Flying Fairy(D1P) is being released next year yet Valkyria Chronicles 3, Final Fantasy Type-0 and other psp titles arent coming even Vitas Tales Of Innocence R. I will do my part regardless if I like the games or not.

I would love Valkyria Chronicles 3 to come stateside but it's very unlikely they'll port it to PS3 or at least Vita… :/

Oh are we not getting Yakuza 5 terribly disappointing if so. I was close to picking up Valkyria Chronicles once, but then learned of the exclusive game in Japan and avoided it ever since.

Sega gonna chose Yakuza 5 even if VC wins, they have more chance selling a PS3 game than a psp one.
