Disgaea D2: A Brighter Darkness Gets A Release Date

Woo-hoo! RPG/strategy fanatics who just can't get enough Disgaea need to circle a date on their calendars.

NIS America has announced that Disgaea D2: A Brighter Darkness will launch in North America on October 8. It'll be available earlier in Europe, where it will be available on September 27.

This game celebrates the 20th anniversary of developer Nippon Ichi Software and the 10th anniversary of the acclaimed Disgaea franchise. Hence, the popular trio from the original game ( Hour of Darkness ) has returned: Laharl, Etna and Flonne. This sequel will also boast a completely fresh storyline, game system refinements that will supposedly "entice new players," and impending downloadable content. You will also appreciate the "highest level of character customization in series history," along with the new Master/Pupil system, and the return of Geo Panels and the addictive Item World.

These games have always been capable of sucking many, many hours of your life away, so be wary. I think I got stuck in the Item World in the original game for like 30 hours, never bothering to really advance the plot because I was too hooked on advancing my characters. …never did get around to finishing that game.

Sweet! I had been wondering if Laharl would ever return as the main character.
