You know, I very nearly bought a GameCube for Tales of Symphonia . I came close.
But then I figured, "eh, there are plenty of great JRPGs I want to play on the PS2." So I regret not playing the critically acclaimed title for Nintendo's system, but now we all might get another shot at it…
According to GameSpot citing a Spanish source, it seems PlayStation 3 owners might be getting an HD revamp of the aforementioned title. In fact, the Wii-exclusive sequel, Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World , might also be included in the package. If the rumor is true, it'll launch exclusively for the PS3 as Tales of Symphonia: Perfect Edition . Franchise manager Hideo Baba says this compilation would be "a representation of the dreams and hopes of the fans, who have long been wanting it."
These days, I'd say JRPG fans really, really need something like this. We're also waiting on Tales of Xillia , which should be out in the US later this year.

Two great Tales games in one year. I will have to somehow find the time to play my PS4. FF 14 online comes out for PS3 this summer and with Phantasy Star Online 2 coming out later this year for the vita. Omg I forgot about Diablo 3 for PS3. Why am I getting a PS4 again?
End of line.
I so want this. I hope it's true.
Its probably true.
They went on record saying that the Tales series is a perfect fit for the PS3.
Awesome, we'll take it.
LOL. This reminded me of my saved game file. Like a few other RPGs I, for whatever reason, found myself getting to the near end/save before the final boss and stop playing. Happened in ToS, FFX (came back to it a year later), Eternal Sonata (probably because I didn't want that game to end)… Anyone else have this problem?
Also I didn't mind grinding so I could easily take down the final boss so that had nothing to do with it.
Lol, what about Vesperia, or do I still have to import it (or buy a 360…)? Still, I can't overly complain. Last time I saw Symphonia it costed more than I could afford for a copy in half-decent condition for my GC, and I still don't have a Wii (or U) yet.
Considering Namcobandai's recent behavior , i wouldn't be surprised if they gave us an ultimate edition of Tales of Vesperia down the the line.
