Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 Remix Receives North American Date

Fans have been waiting patiently (or not so patiently, as the case may be) for this to arrive.

Now we finally have a North American release date for Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 Remix. Square Enix hs discarded the vague "Fall 2013" window for the concrete date of September 10. That's when it will launch for the PS3 in the US for $39.99.

This pack includes the PS2 titles Kingdom Hearts Re: Chain of Memories and Kingdom Hearts: Final Mix , and we'll also be treated to cut-scenes from the Nintendo DS iteration, Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days . The compilation will also boast full Trophy support, along with a host of upgrades and additions, such as new enemies, weapons and abilities. If you want to pre-order, you'll receive a limited edition art book, with featured artwork for the likes of Sora, Riku, Donald and Goofy. Finally, there are early sketches and character renders to peruse as well.

C'mon, if you're a hardcore JRPG fan, you know you have to own this.

They sure do want to squeeze every penny out of these games without actually making KH3 don't they?

I'm really surprised they didn't try to port it to the Xbox and the WiiU… licencing issues probably. Anyway, I thought this collection had the original too! What gives…? :/

I would have preferred KH3 to be made, but with the mess Nomura got tangled in (Versus XIII), this one really got relegated to the back burner. Oh well…

I'm still buying this one just because I really loved KH and it's been years since I last played it. KH 2.5 would be better though, with KH2 and the awesome KH: Birth By Sleep.

So what's the difference between Kingdom Hearts 1 and Kingdom Hearts Final Mix?

Does Final Mix add more scenes or levels or have improvements the original didn't?

I'm a little unsure. I've still got my PS2 versions of Kingdom Hearts 1 and 2 sitting on my shelf, should I finally break those out or just wait for the HD versions?

My understanding is it was a Japan release remastered to include bosses only in the American release and also have english language with japanese subtitles. Or something…

Personally I've always loved these games and I look forward to playing them all over again in HD. I'll be preordering this in order to get the collector's art book and then will be waiting for the announcement of 2.5 HD. I really wish they would bring us part 3 finally too. I wonder, and hope, if now that Disney owns the rights can we get a Star Wars world in the next installment? Anyone else think that would be awesome?

I guess im all sorts of confused. Does this include KH2? If not does KH chain of memories take place begore KH1? Ive never played the games but I really wanted KH1 and 2. I understand that Final Mix is KH1 remastered.
