Looks like we'll soon have all the Grand Theft Auto titles available for download on the PlayStation Network.
According to a recent batch of ESRB ratings , the first two titles in the acclaimed series have been rated. This almost always means the games in question are headed to the digital realm soon.
There have been rumors concerning this move for years, and now it seems it'll finally happen. Of course, if you're unfamiliar, you should probably be aware of something- The GTA you likely know and love started with Grand Theft Auto III on the PS2. That was the first to feature the fully 3D, gigantic and immersive environment, and it absolutely exploded onto the scene. The first two GTA games were for the original PlayStation, and they were top-down experiences that featured mostly driving. It wasn't easy and it was kinda funny looking.
Look up a few more images if you're unfamiliar. Then decide if you'd want to try these when they hit the PSN; some gamers really loved those first games…others hated 'em.
I have one for PS1 and both on PC. They are insanely difficult, but I think i would be willing to try them again.
I never could play these after what GTAIII did.
GTA III was my first exposure to the series but I'd be interested to see what they were like, at least.
I remember those..were you actually had to stop at red lights or the police would get on you fast..
Awesome! I it would be good to play the old GTA's again. They were pretty challenging.
I am happy to see this…Though I still own both of them and the London 1969 version, I wouldn't mind having the digital versions as well. These were by far my favorite in the franchise and most likely will remain so for a long time.
aaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhh good ol GTA how many sleepless nights you have gotten me through!
so hope this is true, id be great to revisit after such a long time.
wish it was HD though!
R*, seriously, you do realize how much money you would make doing a HD collection right?
i mean the term money printing press would be a understatement!
