Uh-oh. Rockstar Games may have gone off the deep end. …okay, maybe not, but this is just a tad weird .
Check out the new Grand Theft Auto V promotional video that was posted at Rockstar's official blog . It's related to the fictional Kifflom cult religion that is evidently the focus of the Epsilon Program viral marketing campaign for GTAV.
Rockstar also wrote:
"The goals and the pledge of Epsilon will continue to be revealed in due time. The Epsilon Program does not exist in just one time or place. We invite you to visit one of our enlightenment centers."
Strangely, the post ended with- "Directions will be provided in one week's time." Oh yeah? What happens in a week? Will we all be permanently enlightened? What's the deal? This is one of those marketing campaigns that kinda boggles the mind, but maybe it just needs to take shape…then it won't be so creepy. By the way, if you pre-order GTAV through Rockstar's website, you'll get a Kifflom-branded t-shirt. Oh dear.

wut….da….fuq….
and that's a good description for the video
Lol, that's got to be a jab at Scientology.
I'm betting this is radio show I some kind……I can't wait for this one, just hope they do it right this time….IV was a step back in the gameplay department.
Definitely a scientology jab, but while that's fine to put in the game for laughs it's pretty strange for a marketing campaign.
NO CHEF!!!
Turn your back on –Sci– Epsilonism before it's too lat… **PPTTHHT**
GG?
gg
This is horrible. Did they contract all the people who used to work in Sony's marketing department?
kifflom brings me joy!
It Seems to be poking at Scientology, Mormonism, and Christianity (and maybe others) and is apparently something that was mentioned in San Andreas.
It makes me wonder how "edgy" or over the top they will go with some of the auxiliary media in the game (radio commercials/DJ's/programs, TV, signage, etc). I was playing Vice City & Vice City Stories the other day (I know right) and I forgot how raunchy it was in spots. It made me realize (and i know this is blasphemy to some) that I actually like GTAIV better than Vice City. I love both, and not that GTAIV is less vulgar, it's just less "American Pie"-ish in it's vulgarity. I guess that's the difference of being 22 for Vice City and 30 for GTAIV.
It's not raunchy or anything, but this video seems a bit more Vice City-ish than GTAIV-ish to me, but then again Republican Space Rangers was pretty over the top. Also, it was funny as crap.
As a person of faith all I ever really ask for from popular media is not to be too mean spirited and to balance it out by poking fun at the other side of the coin a little too.

LOL There must be some type of religion people believe in on GTA V.
I wonder if the background was places in GTA V you can go up to?
It was in San Andreas. Since they are returning I guess they are reviving it. Was kinda funny, they had it on one of the radio shows.
I'm being reminded of the preacher in GTAIV, the one who stood outside your second safehouse.
I always loved waiting until he finished and knocking the **** out of him for no particular reason. lol
Looks like some really crazy stuff that will turn out to be hilariously funny in the game.
Sperm is a lie! I knew it!
I love it!
Rockstar has done similar things for earlier GTAs too, promoting companies and organizations found in the upcoming games.
I really look forward to see what weird sh*t these Scientolog…uhm… Epsilonisms are dealing with in GTA5!
da FAQ!?
really wondering what R*s been smoking lately…..
seriously though, isent a marketing campaign suppose to give you information about the product, to make you want it?
R*, are you EVER, going to give us a live gameplay demo for GTAV?
ever!?
just over 4 months from release, and we basically still know NOTHING about the game!
I can't wait for this game – FACT!
From this video I have learned 2 things…
1. I am seriously under sexed.
2. That if you put fact after your sentence it makes it true – FACT.

I just hope this game has the crazy feel that san andreas had. For me, GTAIV was just a bit too serious FACT!
Ummmm… Can't really think of anything else to say about this… I'm sure it will be interesting to see in-game…
