PSN Spring Fever Sale Shows Sony’s Support Of Indie Titles

The days are getting warmer and you know what that means. No, not allergies…the PlayStation Network Spring Fever sale!

Sony Computer Entertainment America LLC (SCEA) has announced the lineup for their annual Spring Fever Store event, which puts new games in the spotlight. There are special deals for Plus members along with sales of some of the most popular recent titles.

This year, after a strong showing of independent games at the Game Developers Conference, Sony will show its ongoing support of the indie scene, which continues to grow. They're focusing on standout games in that sector and here they are:

April 9: Guacamelee!

Price: 14.99 (Plus Price – $11.99)

April 16: Dragon Fantasy Book I

Price: $9.99 (Plus Price- $7.99)

April 23: Thomas Was Alone

Price: $9.99 (Plus Price- $7.99)

April 30: Zombie Tycoon 2: Brainhovs Revenge

Price: $9.99 (Plus Price- FREE as part of the Instant Game Collection)

You can also take advantage of the unique Cross-Buy functionality for all four of these titles, as if you purchase a game on one platform (PS3 or Vita), you will receive a download voucher for the other platform at no additional cost. The Spring Fever event runs through May 6 so make sure to participate, because a bunch of other sales should be coming, too.

Sweet! I'm on that price for Guacamelee!

Is PSXextreme going to do a review for it? This game looks awesome (IGN gave it a 9)…

On another note, does anyone have any insight on Dragon Fantasy Book 1? I've never heard of it and would like to know if anyone has heard anything about it.

edit/ And Zombie Tycoon for free? Awesome.

Sign me up for Guacamelee. Metroidvania-style gameplay with a great cel-shaded look = a must. Glad someone is keeping the gameplay style alive, even if Konami doesn't seem interested anymore.
