Fast & Furious: Showdown Speeds Into Action Next Month

If you like high-octane driving with a bit of action tossed in, this one might be right up your alley.

Activision Publishing has announced Fast & Furious: Showdown , a game developed through a license deal with Universal Partnerships & Licensing. It's to celebrate the upcoming theatrical release of "Fast and Furious 6," which is set to arrive on May 24. The game will be available on the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii U and PC three days earlier.

Players will be able to drive some of the world's hottest vehicles as they will explore "epic locations around the globe." We'll have the chance to team up with a buddy for two-player co-op, and your goal will be to complete a series of "high-stakes driving missions." While it may sound somewhat generic on the surface, the cool part is that players will be able to switch between driver, gunman, tactician and daredevil during the course of each mission. We'll also be able to build and customize our dream car, and there's an online Challenge Mode where we can test our skills against other racers.

This is one of those games where you're mostly convinced it'll be worthless, but given the premise, it could be really fun. So be optimistic, cross your fingers, and hope for the best.

I'm not holding my breath. Games based on movies are usually absolute s***. This one will likely follow the prophecy.

id be nice to have a decent racing game, really havent had many lately.
but the terms antivision, movie license, dont exactly fill me with confidence…….
hell, we all know how that ended last time.
TWD survival instinct, and family guy back to the multiverse, were not exactly nominations for GOTY!
