Fuse Locks In May 28 Launch Date

It's the first multiplatform title for Insomniac Games and now it has a finalized release date.

Publisher Electronic Arts has announced that the anticipated four-player co-op shooter, Fuse , will be on store shelves in North America on May 28. It'll drop in Europe three days later. The title will be available for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

Also, if you'd like to pre-order Fuse , participating retailers are offering four Hyperion Prototype Armor Skins, four Hyperion Prototype Weapon Skins and a Quickdraw Team Perk that bolsters the damage weapons inflict. First called "Project Overstrike," Fuse is a bit of a departure for Insomniac, which has generated some concern and skepticism in the gaming community. But before you make any decisions, check out our in-depth preview . The game has a lot of promise, even if it isn't the new Resistance we so desperately wanted.

Talk about a series that didn't get anywhere near enough love this past generation, damnit. So sad.

I love Insomniac games. The ratchet and clank games were some of my favorite games on the ps2 and their ps3 games were not really as bad as some people seem to think.

However Its a shame they left sony and got in with EA. I will definitely need to see some reviews before I get this.

Totally underwhelmed by this. I think this is a genuine end of the console generation multiplat, mediocre review score 7.5.

really cant wait for this!
really screams insomniac!
from the outrageous weapons, to the characters, to the unique quirky combat system.
its going to be really interesting to see how the switching characters on the fly goes, and how that changes the gameplay.
its a brilliant idea to have different characters in different classes, and also encourage people to utilize their team mates abilities.
like shooting through a friends shield delivers more damage than playing han solo.
thing im worried about though, is that going to be emphasized enough?
so many games come up with something really cool than restrict its use, or leave it up to the players which just spoils it.
developers need to learn to be way more forceful in the things they do!
no point creating something really cool if your going to just leave it on the bench and put up a sign for it.
you need to be printing out flyers and shoving it in peoples faces!

Anticipated? Well maybe when it was called Overstrike and I liked the style, although it was very close to looking at bit like Valves Team Fortress, which might have been why they changed it.

If its your thing sure, but for me I will have to wait and see what others say and find out what the gameplay is really like. Right now it looks more like a multiplayer style game which I believe is what will probably end up being the big thing for this game.

I appreciated most of Insomniacs previous games, but its a wait and see for this one. Good luck regardless.

Keep Playing!

I just keep thinking this move is a grave one for Insomniac.
I understand not wanting to stay exclusive but this game just does not look like the best answer to increasing their studio's outlook going forward.
Maybe if it's launched at like $40 and is geared heavily towards teens and stuff it might succeed decently.
