And that's because in the process of confirming Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag , Ubisoft also revealed that the PS3 version will receive one hour of exclusive content.
This really shouldn't surprise anyone, though, because Ubisoft has been giving Sony followers this kind of preferential treatment for a while. Last year's ACIII delivered four PS3-exclusive missions centering on Benedict Arnold, for example. Beyond the extra content for Sony's platform, though, we don't have much in the way of details. All we have is the box art (seen through the link) and the rumor that the protagonist's name is Edward Kenway, the grandfather of ACIII's main character, Connor. And yes, pirates do seem to be involved so perhaps we should expect more naval battles.
This will likely drop for the holiday season.
