2K Reveals Season Pass, DLC Plans For Bioshock Infinite

It's quite common these days for publishers to announce downloadable content for games that aren't even out yet.

2K Games has announced the planned DLC for March's upcoming title from Irrational Games, Bioshock Infinite . 2K also revealed the Season Pass and a pre-order incentive.

First up, the DLC- There will be three separate expansion packs for the potential masterpiece, and these add-ons will provide gamers with "new stories, characters, abilities and weapons." Those packs weren't specifically detailed, but it's enough to know they're coming. If you want to make sure you nab 'em all, you can pick up the Season Pass, which will be available on March 26 at the cost of $19.99 on the PlayStation Network and PC (1,600 Microsoft Points on Xbox Live). You can also pre-order the Pass if you so choose.

Pre-ordering nets you an Early Bird Special Pack, which features exclusive gear: Damage upgrades for the machine gun and pistol, a gold skin for both weapons, and five infusion bottles that let players increase their health, shield durability, or ability to use vigors. If you want to pre-order the game, you will obtain the Industrial Revolution Pack, which gives you three in-game gear items that boost combat abilities, $500 bonus cash, five lock picks, and the Industrial Revolution puzzle game.

This is definitely one of the most anticipated titles of 2013.

Who is offering those pre-order bonuses? This might be the first game I actually pay for the season pass for since they thankfully axed the multiplayer and I can count on all-SP goodies.

Why do you not want additions to the game at no additional cost? Even if you don't plan on playing multi its neat to have. If you played bioshock 1 and 2 it was pretty obvious they didn't spend much time on multi and it didn't lessen the sp experience.

Infinites still gonna be a 10 to 12 hour sp campaign regardless of wether multi is there and they're getting off the MP hook scott free

and THREE packs at that!?
*faints*!
see, who said only MP games can get DLC!?
hopefully it sells very well, encourage developers to do more add on stories for their brilliant campaigns!

Not gonna pay near a hundred bucks for the "complete game". Ill happily wait until a game of the year or bundled ultimate edition comes out.

could someone tell me what bioshock infinite qualifies as? i look at the trailers and pix and it looks more like Dishonored than Bioshock 1 and 2. i was always of the mind that the series was more of a sci fi survival horror FPS. just wondering if someone could help me clarify what genre the game falls into. looks good but if its horror i am not normally into it, unless its Doom 1.

Why is every game getting this season pass treatment? It's getting kind of ridiculous. Not to mention in this games case the DLC will probably really add some significant depth to the world, characters and the story I just can't help but feel let down. I can't afford to pay almost 100 bucks for a game, when so many great games are coming out.

Here is to hoping the base game is perfect and complete like Bioshock 1 was.
