Black Ops II Revolution Dated For PS3, PC

The biggest game of 2012 is about to get even bigger.

Activision has revealed that the first DLC Map Pack for the blockbuster Call of Duty: Black Ops II will become available on the PlayStation 3 and PC on February 28. It's called Revolution and boasts "an unparalleled amount of variety and content" for all types of CoD fans. You're one of 'em, right?

Four all-new multiplayer maps lead the charge:

Hydro: Located in Pakistan, this hydro-electric plant comes complete with a lethal spillway that floods with very little warning.

Grind: Set in a skate park in Venice Beach (the birthplace of skateboarding!), quarter-pipes and curved surfaces drive players away from easy cover and into intense firefights.

Downhill: A ski resort in the French Alps, this snowy map is complete with a moving gondola system that can both offer cover and crush you to death.

Mirage: Located in China's Gobi Desert, this luxury resort has been ravaged by a sandstorm.

Zombie fanatics will be happy, too. The new map, Die Rise, drops players in the midst of a maze of crumbling skyscrapers where all-new Wonder Weaponry "will play a crucial role." Why? Because the zombie hoard is swarming! Plus, the new Zombies mode, "Turned," reverses the fan favorite and lets players become the walking undead. Yep, we finally get to play as a zombie! Are we allowed to eat people?

Gamers can pick up the Revolution Map Pack for $14.99 or if they already have the DLC Season Pass, the expansion will come at no extra cost. That Season Pass entitles you to all four scheduled Map Packs, by the way, and can be had for $49.99.

You know, i think if the zombies mode was separate from the boring online/story aspect of these games i would probably be on the bandwagon buying each zombie game. I don't think any other survival type has infinite waves that get much tougher than the last. I just don't want anyone to see me playing black ops and say "OMG COME JOIN MY CLAN" It happened with mw2 all the time.

It doesn't help that they hold the Nuketown Zombie thing hostage and force you to buy a season pass to get it.

You forgot to mention the Peacekeeper SMG included in the DLC pack.

So, that's five new maps total (including zombie map) at a price of $15?

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive is priced at $15, and that's a complete first person shooter. This expensive DLC trend is really starting to piss me off. Seriously, if this was $5, I *may* consider buying the pack. But $15 for a total of five maps?

Call Of Duty: Black Ops 2 is a fairly decent game. Now, before you spew hate out of your nozzles, Black Ops 2 in it of itself is a fun experience. The story is relatively creative, and the multiplayer is addictive. The problem most people have isn't with the game itself, which is arguably one of the reasons first person shooters dominate the industry today. The problem is with the pricing and practices, such as yearly releases of a nearly identical product, and highly priced downloadable content with very little content for the price.

End Rant. 😛

(Yes, I own Black Ops 2 on the Wii U, but only because Black Ops 2 was a gift from an uninformed relative)

Got to try them on someone's Xbox at the weekend – downhill is the pick of the bunch. Mirage is a campers map. The peace maker needs the rapid fire attachment to be as effective as the skorpion.

pissed that micro$oft pays for 1 month exclusive dlc
