Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge No Longer A Wii U Exclusive

Time for more fast-paced, high-quality slicing action.

According to Siliconera citing Famitsu, Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge will be coming to the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. We're not sure when it'll come stateside, but it popped up on a Japanese retailer's database with a release date of April 4.

Razor's Edge was initially announced as a Wii U exclusive (Nintendo even published the title in North America and Europe), but it seems the developers want to reach a bigger audience. Featuring revised enemy AI and fewer quick time events, the game also boasts new playable characters in the appealing forms of Dead or Alive 's Ayane and Kasumi. Just remember that the PS3 and 360 versions will be ports of the Wii U versions, so it'll be interesting to see how they come out. Gonna try it?

Personally, I say we need to see an entirely new Ninja Gaiden effort from Team Ninja and Tecmo. They've been doing these remakes and pseudo-sequels for most of the generation, so if there's one franchise that needs a reboot, I'd say this one qualifies.

If Ninty published it in NA and EU, doesn't that mean it's hopeless for it to come to PS3 and 360?

Didn't Microsoft publish Ninja Gaiden 2? Tecmo could perhaps publish it in the states as a Sigma game.

Finally. It just seemed so retarded to try and save face with the Nintendo crowd on this one. I'm glad to see Team Ninja sought to reveal (I'm sure this was in the cards all along) to bring this update to PS3.
I'll have to get this.
As for a reboot. I don't know. On one hand NG3 went in a very wrong direction. On the other hand, Team Ninja seems to know where to go with the series, hence this NG3 update. It's going back to the core and away from the mindless, bloodlusted, masses.

Whatever they do with the series they had better keep the values of their core at the fore. Don't sink yourself Tecmo trying to keep up with hollywood style production budgets. Don't try to be AAA in scale, basically. Perhaps, AAA in 'quality' of play (which as far as im concered the best NG's have no equal), but a smaller sized company like Tecmo needs to straddle their corner market and straddle it well and keep their identity as it is.

The mindless bloodlust and lack of difficulty is why I finally bought it 🙂

Imagine a reboot where Ryu is a skinny punk kid, lol.

ha well a punk kid I could handle but 30fps on UE3 I could not.

I still love the NES and arcade version of Ninja Gaiden over the new ones. Let's have a new 2D Ninja Gaiden. 🙂

Oh, and don't skip the ninja trial stuff. It was pretty nice ninja action.

I've heard Razor's Edge is a significant improvement over the original release so I may try it. Hilarious that they have to re-release it though, could've saved themselves the trouble by releasing this game the first time around.

Before handhelds existed, a company called Tyger would release little handheld games in the 80's. Ninja Gaiden handheld was my first taste of gaming. :')

ironic, thats probably going to be before it releases here for the wiiu!
cant believe this was suppose to be a launch title, and it STILL has not released!
in fact it was the first game to be rated R here.
