Ben-DutkaEA tries to make the best simulated football game possible. But the accuracy with which Madden NFL 13 predicted this year's Super Bowl is just a little…creepy.
After the Baltimore Ravens beat the San Francisco 49ers 34-31 in yesterday's championship, EA sent out a press release reminding us that last year's Madden iteration ran a simulation of the game and also had Baltimore winning by a field goal. That score was 27-24, but it's close.
Plus, this means the most recent Madden game has correctly predicted 8 of the last 10 Super Bowls, and this year they even got the MVP right: Quarterback Joe Flacco. The simulation was also correct in predicting touchdowns for Anquan Boldin and Frank Gore, and almost perfectly predicting Colin Kaepernick's stat line. The video game's result was 18 of 29 with a TD and an INT and in reality, the 49er QB posted a 16 of 28 completion line and yes, one TD and one INT. Hell, Madden even correctly forecasted an Ed Reed interception as the only interception of the game.
Obviously, EA likes to use these events as proof of their franchise's incredible authenticity, and we really can't blame them. By the way, this year, you can expect Madden NFL 25 , which will launch on August 27. No, they're not skipping a bunch of years; this year is the franchise's 25th anniversary. Yes, it has really been a quarter-century.

The better team won, I will admit. The Baltimore Ravens had better coaching as well. Maybe next year, with a fixed D and ST unit and Alex Smith gone, the 49ers will win No. 6. For now, I'm in mourning.
I am in the same boat with my Vikings. Would have loved to see a healthy Ponder play against Green Bay. He was really playing well at the end of the season. But didn't happen and now I can only look forward to the draft. Sorry your 9ers lost, at least they made it to the SB. Enough cannot be said about the experience all the 9ers received especially in a loss. My Vikings have knocked many times but no one answers the Super Bowl door 🙁

I won $280.60 betting on this game. I couldn't be happier with the results. I took a huge risk making my 6th and last bet of my parlay being at least one safety, but damn that last 10 seconds sealed the deal!! Not bad for a $5 bet!
49iners will come back next time, so much talent. Those last downs that they had, I thought they were going to seal the deal right there.

It was a great game indeed despite the power cut.
But damn it was a great fight till the end by the 49ers, I thought there's no hope left after the first half and then BAM.
And salute to Ray Lewis, his presence and dance will be forever miss.

I knew my Ravens would win their second Super Bowl. If it was nit for that blackout the game would have remained a blowout.
The football game was great. I wanted 9ers to win but that was the best Super Bowl games I have watched in years. The Madden Games have done really well with the game predictions, I really can't deny that. The Star Bangle Banner performed by the Sandy Hook Elementary brought a tear to my eye.
i can see it now, the use of sports games by betters is going to be banned and background checks will be made on everyone whos bidding on sports.
then next on fox, sports games condemning our children to a lifetime of gambling addiction!
