The Devil May Cry reboot from Ninja Theory and Capcom spent a couple of weeks atop the UK sales charts, which was seen as a good sign.
But initial sales couldn't outstrip the numbers tallied by Devil May Cry 4 in 2008 and now, DmC has slipped to fourth , while Call of Duty: Black Ops II has attained the top spot for the first time in 2013.
FIFA 13 was the #1 seller in the UK during the first few weeks of the year and DmC: Devil May Cry knocked the soccer sim from its perch after DmC launched mid-month. And I guess everyone in the UK is climbing back onto the Black Ops II bandwagon, which isn't necessarily surprising considering the history of the franchise. 2011's Modern Warfare 3 was a top 10 seller for most all of 2012.
Here's the UK top 10 for the week ending January 26, 2013:
Skyrim is on UK top 10 two YEARS after release? That has to be some sort of record?

Probably not. But it's one of those games that's almost timeless due to its massive size and scope.
It's been out more like 14 months, but it definitely feels like 2 years as much as I've heard about it…
Yeah but still, one should think a game dropped out of the top ten lists after this long time.
The popularity of Skyrim never ceases to amaze me.

Skyrim being in the top ten only means one thing, the games that were released in the later part of 2012 all bombed. Looking back at E3 2012 the holidays looked good for gamers, then a couple of months lapsed and delays were announced. Nobody wanted to compete with COD and Assassin's Creed. This top ten will change soon, i promise. Although i suspect FIFA and COD will still be there.
Skyrim is pretty good. I recently just bought if for pc. I had to get rid of the console version because I wanted the mods.
DMC shows up in my mail today as a rental.
Whoa nice, Football Manager on the list as well?
They love their football indeed.
It helps that it's a great series as well. I prefer it over FIFA easily. You really get a sense of accomplishment when you succeed. It's tough to be successful if you start with a low tier squad and try to work your way up, like I always do. It's also the #2 game played daily on Steam pretty regularly.
Poor game is actually good, if wasnt that hated for the former fans those sales would be better.
So I guess voting with your wallet does really work?
