Ni no Kuni: Wrath Of The White Witch Will Be Available On PSN

Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch is only a week away. JRPG fanatics everywhere are counting the days.

While the game boasts elements of old-school role-playing goodness, we didn't know if it would embrace the modern-day downloadable feature. In other words, we had no idea if Level-5 and Sony would make the game available digitally on the PlayStation Store.

Good news: they are. According to a recent Tweet from Level-5 product manager Scott Strichart, Ni no Kuni will indeed be available on the PSN in digital format. The only downside is that it may not be up on the Store on the same day as the physical copy hits store shelves (January 22). "If it's not the same day, it's not far behind," Strichart wrote. We'll have to wait and see when Wrath of the White Witch lands an official PSN release date; here's hoping it'll be before the month is out. Perhaps the following week, on January 29 when the Store updates again…?

Of course, considering the targeted audience for this game, I'm willing to bet that the vast majority are far more interested in owning the actual disc and box. Am I right?

Yes! I figured as much but it's good to see an actual confirmation. Cannot wait to experience this marvel!

Yup I'll have my disc and box but this is a good idea because chances are pretty solid 90% of the public has never heard of this game and having it on PSN shoulder garner more exposure for a game that likely won't be advertised at all.

Won't be able to get it day 1 because I used a coupon code to get money off at Newegg but I won't be able to play until the weekend anyway. Looking forward to Ben's review.

Already pre-ordered from GAME, for some reason they have a load of the Japanese Wizard Books (Yes that 300 page book in the special edition) which they are giving away if you pre-order from them. It was either that or pay double price for an english version with a stuffed toy and DLC character. I'm happy with the Japanses book for the price.

Regarding it being on the PSN, I am all for it, I don't know why people would prefer to buy PS3 games on download (Epsecially with the prices often they start out The retail price + half ontop of that too!) But if it gives this game more attention I am all for it, I really don't want this game to slip under the radar.

This is the game me and my PS3 have been waiting for. At the end of the cycle history repeats itself and gives me a great JRPG experience. Last time it was Dragon Quest VIII on PS2.
Plus it more or less the same people behind this title as well.

I personally would kill for this to be available on the PS Vita. I tend to have more time for my "thinking games" on the go. Would love this to sink my teeth into.

P4G should give me that RPG fix soon. Am 25 hours into Zero Escape: Virtues Last Reward on the Vita and I can't describe how brilliant that is.

Hope Ni no Kuni gets some good publicity and sales whatever way you want to buy it.

I agree, playing on the Vita is a great intimate experience. It's easy to pick up, play and then press the PS button to pause the game and continue later on. Always on tech FTW! Just got the Platinum for ACIIIL! I had 20 hours into that game and it was a lot of fun! The MP however is atrocious!

As soon as I need a game to play I will be buying Zero Escape Virtues Last Reward! I have heard nothing but stellar things about it.

I wonder if it'll be available on the European store as well. Considering the game's release was delayed in Europe due to late shipment, it would be great to have the option for a digital purchase before February 2nd (maybe on the 25th?). Even if not, I can always buy it on your store.

I personally want the disc-version, but considering how hyped I am for this game, I might just have to grab the digital version AND the retail version later when it comes out.

The only game that I've purchased digitally is Catherine and I regret it. There's something about the tangible product that's so much better. On my list this is a game that I'll get before it's officially released. I'll most likely get it either January 19 or 20th. I just happen to know the right people lol.

The game is very kiddy, but I'm sure hardcore JRPG or RPGs fans can enjoy it. It reminds me a little of Dragon Quest Vlll. The good ol' days @_@

Good news!!! Game Master UK and IGN gave Ni No Kuni a 9.5 and 9.4 respectively!!! Wow, what a painful wait! Another amazing Sony exclusive!

I'll definitely buy this as a download rather than a digital disc.

I buy a lot of games and I don't like to manage giant stacks of game cases and hunt for the disc I want. Also having a terrible two daughter means that she will frequently make a mess out of physical disc collections and get stuff lost. Having all my games loaded onto a big PS3 hard drive is much simpler for my situation.
