Far Cry 3 is going to be big. There will be a very large world to explore, and a great many foes to conquer.
Sometimes, this means the story takes a back seat. It may be inevitable as we'll spend 99% of our time running around doing what we want, but FC3 should still feature a cohesive and interesting plot.
That's very much on display in Ubisoft's latest trailer for the upcoming sequel. The story is definitely shaping up to be a highlight, especially because it's just so damn freaky and twisted. If you've seen some of the past videos focusing on individual characters, you'll know exactly what I'm talking about. The great part is that we should get both a compelling narrative and an open-world sandbox title that encourages exploration and freedom. That ain't so easy to find.

So far, So good!
thats the best thing about this game!
not that its open world and you can do whatever you want, but its crazy storyline.
both vas, and the trippy night drug infused missions just add and scream so much character!
something so rare in this industry.
as ive always said this is the perfect antidote to the industries virus.
everything is so plain, boring and unimaginative!
its about time a developer took some magic mushrooms and had some fun!
This is one of the few times I've agreed with you haha, but the crazy plot and the outright FUN of the game just make it really stand out from the huge crowd of FPSs, and I'm pretty excited to see how well the final product is
Don't worry, after it releases you will hate it.
and IM mr negitive!
thanks for adding so much to the constructive conversation world.
I Just hope the story is good.
Sweet fancy moses that looks great. Though I'm thinking before I get it for myself I might look for a deal on post-xmas sales for my friend's birthday. I'm constantly trying to get him more and more into video games and it ain't easy finding stuff he likes (outdoorsy gun nut).
Is this story line separate from previous entries? Like, is it a game that you can play without playing through the first two?
Yes.
Awesome. Thanks!
Hehe – this will just *so* be mine. Can't wait.
