Songbird Ultimate And Premium Editions For Bioshock Infinite

Despite the perceived internal problem , Irrational Games is apparently still on track to deliver Bioshock Infinite in February. …we hope.

And if you're as psyched as you should be for the game (reservations due to the aforementioned news notwithstanding), you might want to consider the fancy Ultimate Songbird Edition. It's pricey, but it's cool .

Leading the incentives is a 9.5" statue of Songbird, a wicked creature designed by Robb Waters, whose work has appeared in System Shock , Bioshock , and Freedom Force . The package will also feature a keychain, a propaganda lithograph, a 25-millimeter Handyman miniature, and a special art book. You'll also receive voucher codes for some digital content, such as the official soundtrack. This bundle retails for a whopping $149.99 but if you'd rather scale things back a little, there's the Premium Edition, which won't hit your wallet so hard.

It boasts everything in the Songbird Edition…minus the Songbird. This implies that the Songbird statue in the Ultimate Edition is worth $70 and I have a hard time believing that. But then again, hardcore fans might really want to have that collectible… Anyway, Bioshock Infinite is slated for a late-February release for all platforms.

Too expensive for me; no way that Songbird is worth $70. I'll somehow survive with the regular game.

Fear the songbird.

Can't say I have every seen the need to have a toy with a special edition. Especially when it doubles/triples the price. I think I will just pick up the normal game and buy that massive Hardback art book separately.

Still it is good to here something positive from the production, I am getting a little worried after even more staff leaving this week.

Statue, if you call it a toy you may incur nerd rage 🙂

i would really like to have that songbird statue but at that price i dont know about that. thats like the skyrim ce with the 150 price tag for that dragon statue. cool as it might be, thats to much money. i got the special edition of bioshock 2 and that wasnt anywhere near as expensive. that reminds me i need to buy a record player.

If the songbird is made of resin like it's supposed to be, it actually could be worth more down the line. Anime statues and the like are huge business overseas and I collect/sell them myself. This statue is supposed to be made of the same type of material, definitely making it worth that price tag.

And if it's anything like the props they usually give out in giveaways to fans at their PAX East shows, it will be worth every penny. I'm down.
