A disappointed b-ball fan pointed out what has already become public knowledge: As revealed at the game's official website , NBA Live 13 won't be coming. It seems the game just wasn't going to be ready for its intended October launch, and EA has a reputation to uphold.
EA Sports executive vice president Andrew Wilson says the team will "sit out the full year" and try to make the next effort better. Said Wilson:
"Making great games is not easy. And we're just not there yet on NBA Live 13. Having continued to look at the game over the past few days, it's clear that we won't be ready in October. And rather than launch midway through the season, we're going to sit out the full year and stay focused on making next year’s game great."
Live hasn't been around for a few years, while 2K's popular NBA 2K series has done rather well. Still, EA is hoping to resurrect their basketball franchise for the next NBA season and ideally, it will satisfy the die-hard fans. Sports fanatics can be demanding!

Reading EA's comment section, mostly everyone's complaining that they want 10 patched & fixed with new rosters, and the online portion turned back on until 14 actually comes out.
They also think EA owes them at least that much, for making them wait & then wait some more.
BTW, I wonder what words EA's been making a mad dash to blank out in almost all of the comments, cause it's surly not curse words, or even their competitor 2K.
I dont understand with all the power/money and people the got why they just dont have a team build a sports engine. I mean an across the board sports engine. Then all the dev teams would have to do is implement which ever league they are covering. Would make the games better and more consistant.
With all the developers under the EA Sports banner and yet no cross development it seems. Sad.
It's a shame..it really is..They haven't put out a basketball game in years. Each attempt, when you see gameplay looks terrible. EA just needs bow out of the basketball realm..2k has a firm grip on hoops sims..I never thought I'd see the day where NBA Live became so terrible..
NBA Live was never going to trump NBA 2K series and I think EA knows that !
