Ben-DutkaCall of Duty is big business. Big business can afford big names.
Activision has once again teamed up with popular metal band Avenged Sevenfold to amp up Call of Duty: Black Ops II , the impending blockbuster that is set to drop on November 13.
The song the band has delivered for this hotly anticipated sequel is their new single, "Carry On." This isn't the first time Avenged has given CoD fans a song; they also produced "Not Ready to Die" for the first Black Ops , so it makes sense to tap them again, no? Also, don't forget that Academy Award-winning composer Trent Reznor has been working on the music for the game, and composer Jack Wall ( Mass Effect 2 ) has handled much of the soundtrack.
Now all that's left is for the game to live up to the lofty expectations of the CoD fanbase. Will you be one of thousands that are gonna line up before midnight? Are you getting that wacky Care Package? Come on, fess up.

Not a big fan of Avenged Sevenfold. I'm much more excited about the fact that Trent Reznor composed the theme song!
Nooooope!!! Next!!! I like Avenged Sevenfold but my goodness this is horrible. Sounds like a really bad musical mixture of Dragonforce with a hint of Faith No More.
Activisions attempt to one up EA for using linkin park. This should be fun.
I love metal. Avenged Sevenfold is not metal. Maybe in days gone by did they begin to scratch the surface of the glory machine that is metal, but no longer. M. Shadows is a sell out with a worthless voice. Honestly, losing The Rev should have put an ax into their little boy band, but… like zombies, they continue on. Alas… a crappy band contributes to a crap game series (yeah, I'm a hater, sorry) so… not particular love lost there. Just felt the need to put that out there… *deep breath*
Actually… thus far, the only game that I have played that has offered a pretty damn good selection of real metal is Sleeping Dogs – limited though it was. About the only song that plays on the Roadrunner Station that I could care less for is Trivium – who I believe is going the way of Avenged Sevenfold in a much more Metallica-like fashion. SORRY! I clearly hate music, so I do not feel the need to rant about metal finding a footing in videogames…
